So it was a Poseidon then. It had a 737 nose so I thought it was a Wedgetail
I believe that the 3 wedgetails are still all in the STS hangar at BHX. I didn't see the interview, so I don't know how much of the aircraft was visible, but the wedgetails have a very large antenna on the rear fuselage. Also, the B707, B727 and B737 all shared the same nose section.

Rather more just a nose, both the Poseiden and and Wedgetail are a 737 airframe extensively and expensively modified to forfill specialist military roles. The Wedgetail programme currently estimated cost is £630 million per aircraft or £1.89 billion for cash. The M.O..D. have managed to end up with five very costly radar sets as they never read the contract properly when they reduced the aircraft order from five to three.

The programme is at least 2years behind schedule and likely to slip further and costs increase, they will be at BHX a while yet.

Hope the pilots are better than the US ones putting a P-8 in the sea.No wonder we have no army or navy if they are spending that sort of money

Looking at the first post on this thread, it does say it’s for stuff that’s not on the topic of BHX.
Also says that topics should be local -

Yeah the "Discuss Things Not Related to Aviation" is for the whole forum and sadly very underutilised. I was thinking of something more 'local'.

For instance discussions about the Birmingham area and it's history interest many people but are not directly related to the airport. That's just one example, there are countless more.

Local releated as the WMP Helicopter is based at BHX but every couple of weeks It flies over Darlaston doing circuits and hovering around with the light I assume on the white light, Now If It was looking for someone I surely would hear the Sirens of Police so do the Police like to Train Helicopter Staff over areas much like a Bus Driver has Route knowledge do the Helicopter Staff need training of Darlaston to know where suspects could hide and local landmarks. And if not If it is training Then I assume the Police don't use Sirens or come in large numbers to not alarm residents. I only have ever known the Police be searching for someone twice, my dad told me one night he got a text from his Step Daughter my Step Sister to say the Police were in our Estate the Police Helicopter was out and Police kept looking through Gardens asking people apart from our house. The other time was over Pleck when someone got shot and I hear the Chopper never saw it. My Dad found out about it as he was going on the bus that should have gone that way but was diverted. I realise this maybe Information not known but I do wonder and I do know it is Police as they don't track on FR24 and by the lights

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
