Couple of weeks ago they were interviewing Rishi Sunak on some incidents on the News and in the background was an RAF 737 I assume this is one of the Wedgetails

Thanks for the clarification. It was at Lossiemouth
Why even mention this? It's totally irrelevant to the BHX forum.he flew over MAN in the morning onTitan A321
This answered my question -Because, in all fairness, it answers your question.
It was at Lossiemouth
Has absolutely nothing to do with my question and is totally irrelevant on the BHX forum. I have no interest in what's happening at MAN.he flew over MAN in the morning onTitan A321
So it was a Poseidon then. It had a 737 nose so I thought it was a WedgetailWhere was Rishi Sunak being interviewed? If not at BHX, then it's likely that the aircraft was a Boeing P-8 Poseidon.
I believe that the 3 wedgetails are still all in the STS hangar at BHX. I didn't see the interview, so I don't know how much of the aircraft was visible, but the wedgetails have a very large antenna on the rear fuselage. Also, the B707, B727 and B737 all shared the same nose section. So it was a Poseidon then. It had a 737 nose so I thought it was a Wedgetail

Looking at the first post on this thread, it does say it’s for stuff that’s not on the topic of BHX.Thanks for the clarification.

Rather more just a nose, both the Poseiden and and Wedgetail are a 737 airframe extensively and expensively modified to forfill specialist military roles. The Wedgetail programme currently estimated cost is £630 million per aircraft or £1.89 billion for cash. The M.O..D. have managed to end up with five very costly radar sets as they never read the contract properly when they reduced the aircraft order from five to three. So it was a Poseidon then. It had a 737 nose so I thought it was a Wedgetail
Also says that topics should be local -Looking at the first post on this thread, it does say it’s for stuff that’s not on the topic of BHX.
Yeah the "Discuss Things Not Related to Aviation" is for the whole forum and sadly very underutilised. I was thinking of something more 'local'.
For instance discussions about the Birmingham area and it's history interest many people but are not directly related to the airport. That's just one example, there are countless more.
