Jet2 Boeing 737-800, G-JZBH operating this mornings EXS25J service from Leeds to Tenerife South has diverted to Las Palmas (Gran Canary) after an aborted landing due to windsheer.
B738 G-JZHY has positioned down to Las Palmas empty from BHX to pick up the Tenerife bound passengers and take them there. Then will operate the return LS244 flight. Expected to arrive 04:00.

Why? If the plane diverted due to windshear (which is common at TFS), why is another aircraft needed? Why can't the original aircraft they diverted just hop over from Las Palmas back to Tenerife? Me not understand!! 😔

i would imagine the crew are now out of hours, so will the ferry the aircraft back tomorrow, the other possibility is that the aircraft has gone tech on landing LPA

I’ve head it might have gone tech so that could be the reason. If it was the crew being out of hours they would have overnighted and likely operated the flight tomorrow.

It had a flap over speed due the wind shear which meant it required a fairly in depth maintenance inspection before flying again!

Jet2 Boeing 737-300, G-GDFK operating flight EXS26G to Palma de Mallorca has just reported a possible birdstike after departing runway 32.
Asked for a runway inspection and checker has found remains of a wood pigeon.

Update 1

It would never have happened at Doncaster!

Good to know it landed safely and everyone is ok. I heard it and that engine sounded decidedly unwell.

RIP Wood Pigeon.

How right you were White Heather. That deluded lot at Save DSA on Facebook are now quoting that a bird stake would not happen at Doncaster. Taken from the post 1 hour ago. - 'So yet again another bird strike at LBA today. Air ops do a great job at lba scaring away this potential threat but due to the proximity of harewood and the red kites plus the corvid population and the local water sites attracting geese lba is suffering more than most other airfields. Someone will know for sure but i am sure dsa didn't suffer very many bird strikes'. Never read as much rubbish in my life.

Yeah I saw it too, So had to post a reply which hasn't gone down to well.

Of course, at Doncaster there were so few flights there was naturally a lower chance if a bird strike. The poor birds had nothing to hit. But seriously, the Save DSA lot are clearly becoming quite desperate as they see their chances of their airport ever becoming Yorkshire's Premier Airport diminish before their eyes, resulting in their constant and somewhat ridiculous vitriol aimed at LBA.

I believe the poster is an ex DSA employee who for the moment seems to be employed at LBA.
Ironically, on Mr Chadwick's site - just now - are some great images with a very appropriate post of a large number of birds on the runway at DSA - check it out! :ROFLMAO:

And presumably no planes to disturb them?
Simple enough maths really. If LBA has around 60 commercial departures in a day and DSA managed less than 10, the odds of a bird strike at LBA are 6 times greater.

This constant bitching about Doncaster is getting boring and in poor taste. Just imagine if the situation were reversed.
I agree we should all be encouraging aviation but if you look at the SaveDSA Facebook page and similar sites on there you'll appreciate why as a LBA supporter we have to defend our airport. There is a constant barrage from DSA support belittling LBA, for every comment on here about DSA there is in the region of 10 from the Doncaster lot who are not just anti LBA but will not accept that the airport is a failure and will be again in the future, but will find anything however small to have a go at LBA.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
