This constant bitching about Doncaster is getting boring and in poor taste. Just imagine if the situation were reversed.
If DSA supporters continue to dish out the dirt on LBA at every opportunity you can't blame LBA supporters for hitting back . It's gone beyond a joke. Everything that happens at LBA would ' never have happened' at DSA. They have turned their 'Save DSA ' campaign into a ' Hate LBA' campaign, with apparently ex DSA staff who now work at LBA even making ridiculous claims.

If LBA are like most employers, they will have a social media policy, which if they follow normal standard wording, will have a statement about bad publicity for the company/reputational damage. I haven’t seen the comments, but if they are slanderous/bring the company’s reputation into question, then the individual may fall foul of disciplinary action.

They may not work for LBA but for Swissport, or Jet2. It was nothing that would breach such policies but allegedly questioning the number of bird strikes at LBA and suggesting they didn't have as many at DSA. As I've already pointed out, of course they didn't. LBA has considerably more aircraft movements than DSA ever had, so the risk of bird strikes is clearly greater. But it's just this 'It wouldn't have happened at DSA' nonsense that is getting people's backs up. Apparently DSA never had snow (they did), or fog (they did) or runway excursions ( they most certainly did!) or crosswinds ( they did) and various other events at LBA never would occur at DSA apparently. Making any money should perhaps be on their list!

I had every sympathy for the employees of DSA when it closed and they lost their jobs, and nobody likes to see an airport close, even if it was never needed in the first place. But, this anti LBA hate campaign is beyond ridiculous. The Save DSA lot should concentrate their efforts on their airport rather than constantly carping on about what goes on at LBA.

May I suggest we rise above the comments of DSA supporters and their claims and ignore them. As WH said, the saddest part of this is the number of people who lost their jobs. Hopefully, they have managed to find employment in aviation or other fields.
Please stick to LBA detail in this thread and may I suggest that if you want to discus DSA, then use the appropriate thread.

Thank you.

GDFK looks to have been out on a test flight earlier today, went over the North Sea near Newcastle and back to LBA

Still out of service for the time being. After arriving from it’s test flight it was towed over to a remote stand where they’ve been working on it all day.

Also GDFO is again tech after arriving from Mahon which has caused a few delays this aft.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
