What did you make of it?

I quite enjoyed it but there seems to be mixed reviews.

See what I like is that it Shows what happens on deadline day they show owners meeting with fans.Im only on Episode 2 so I don’t know as much.

Would of been nice to get airport action on the documentary as they would have been over the moon delighted

I loved it, but i am biased.

I don't think they really glossed over anything, it was warts and all. The way they covered the Exeter away game and Stanno was excellent, especially including his wider family. My one criticism if anything was that they rushed a few bits, especially the last home game and the trophy presentation.
I have been going down to Stans(@Knighthead Park) for 57 years, and without doubt that was the best day i have had there, the weather, the atmosphere, the performance, the result and the celebrations, it was brilliant, and deserved a bit more coverage. They also conflated that game with getting to 111 points which actually happened the following week at Cambridge.

I have never been sure about what value Tom Brady added, but i was really impressed with him, and
I think he really does add a lot of value to the playing side with the processes that have been implemented. He really sussed Rooney out very quickly as well, and took ownership for the mistake in appointing him, although that was basically Cook's decision.

What also came over quite strongly was the commitment of Knighthead and Brady to the plans they have for the club. I cant wait for the Sports Quarter and what that will bring to the City as much as anything, not just the Blues. I really wish they had of been interested in the ownership of the airport when the shares came up for sale. They would have been brilliant and really invested in the infrastructure as well as improving the passenger experience.

To try and get an unbiased opinion, I asked 3 of my Aussie born relatives in Sydney and Melbourne to watch it, as they do follow what goes on in Birmingham. They all loved it as well.

I have been going down to Stans(@Knighthead Park) for 57 years, and without doubt that was the best day i have had there, the weather, the atmosphere, the performance, the result and the celebrations, it was brilliant, and deserved a bit more coverage.

As a Villa fan, I can say that the best game I saw at St Andrews was against Leeds when LUFC were miles ahead of the competition.

There were crowds locked out until half-time when a bombscare caused the gates to open and another couple of thousand sneaked in.

Apart from finals, my best game was Villa vs Santos to watch Pele. The crowd was massively under reported and I had my Evening Mail handout signed by the great man (unfortunately, at the tender age I was, I didn't have the forethought to ask Dad to get it framed).

BTW, good luck to the Noses - we need more local teams in top flight.

My wife, who isn't from Birmingham and doesn't really care about football, also enjoyed it. I think a few things in the first episode opened her eyes.

I definitely think that thy could have done another 2 or 3 episodes, as you said that last home game of the season was something else. I never thought I'd be one for twirling scarves but sat in the Tilton the spectacle really was something else.

I appreciate why Tony Mowbray wasn't included but I thought that they may have featured the retirement of Juke. I'm aware though that it was mainly targeted at the US audience that probably don't have that understanding.

Hoping for a series 2 🙂

Next series for me need to be involved

• History of Birmingham views around the city and cultures parts of it
• Direct link for a promoted route from America.This has been on the agenda mind of Tom Wagner and Nick Barton.Be nice to have him on the documentary.
• Solihull moors friendly and Arthur trophy game.Be a great addition.
• Sports quarter and where they want to expand it to.
• Explain the rivalry between Villa and blues

I definitely think that thy could have done another 2 or 3 episodes, as you said that last home game of the season was something else. I never thought I'd be one for twirling scarves but sat in the Tilton the spectacle really was something else.

I appreciate why Tony Mowbray wasn't included but I thought that they may have featured the retirement of Juke. I'm aware though that it was mainly targeted at the US audience that probably don't have that understanding.

A few people have commented on Juke's retirement not really been covered.
I think the least they could have done is shown his last goal, but he might have said that he did not want any focus on him in the series. He did look a bit sheepish at times in the celebrations after the Mansfield game, when the focus was on him. I certainly think he is one that does not really like a lot of fuss to be made.

I would definitely think there will be a season 2. Someone I know watched it when he was on holiday in Thailand and it was Number 6 on the Prime watch list there. It has certainly generated lots of interest and Tom Brady did loads of interviews on TV, Radio and Social media channels over here. How true this is I dont know, but I did read the Docu series would generate between £40m and £50m for the club. This figure does equate with Tom W ( aka Wags ) changing his revenue forecast for the year to be the equivalent of that generated by the parachute clubs including their parachute payments. Previously he had said the revenue forecast was the same as parachute clubs, excluding their parachute payments.

The Metro works does seem to have stepped up a pace since the recent funding announcement. Preparatory work has restarted on the route from Digbeth towards HS2 station, with Allison St now closed. I could never work out why it actually stopped unless it was the funding.

To continue the route from Digbeth towards the new stadium requires a Transport and Works Act Order and this should be submitted in the Autumn for approval and then they will be able to crack on with it.

It is certainly exciting times in the East part of the City. I tend to walk down past the Clayton and Millenium point to St Andrews and the progress now being made on the HS2 and metro developments in that area has really picked up.

It's not anything that is really important, other understand airline flight paths.

Where I live just outside Leominster I have a lot of overflying aircraft, only north-south strangely.

But whereas there are flights out of Manchester and Liverpool, a lot of overflying planes originate in Leeds. I must be honest, I find it strange that they should head south by firstly crossing over to the west side of the country. But, I am sure, there must be a simple answer.

Now at night, when I am asleep and woken by the occasional overflying plane, it is generally Ethiopian Airlines bound for airports in Europe....

It's a strange world.

This is a hard one to give a specific answer to, however I will attempt to try to help. To do this i will concentrate on the Leeds question.
Flights within the UK, as a standard rule follow specific "Airways". For flights from Leeds to Spain the choice of routes would be across to Hull and then to Amsterdam or over to north of Manchester and then down to the London area. Finally they can come across to the Wrexham area and then south over Wales before heading towards to Bay of Biscay.

The first is obviously rather a long way around.

Going down the west side of the Pennines involves using busy and congested airspace in the London area.

The final choice is therefore the easiest choice of routing.

Before anybody else makes a comment, im quite happy to be corrected as I am working from memory. Can I suggest, if you don't already use it, that you download the FlightRadar24 app. This will enable you to monitor the routes that flights use.

Thank you Scottie Dog. I did not appreciate how detailed routings are and, indeed, thank you for your explanation.

For me, a seasoned traveller, I do get a lot of pleasure sitting out in front of my barn with a glass of wine and imagining the thrill that young families must be getting as they jet off to their holidays.

And being so isolated on my farm, I also get to hear the planes as they arrive from the north, most probably still not at cruising altitude.

So peaceful!

We popped into Birmingham yesterday to pay our respects in Broad Street and to visit the exhibition @ the museum and art gallery.
We both expressed our disappointment at the state of 5 Ways to Millennium Square having both worked @ 5 Ways.
The office blocks on the walk up from 5 Ways station are derelict as is the top of Broad Street (on the left hand side, walking into town). The area where the Walk Of Fame starts is a mess.
We also had a meal at what used to be a nice Italian restaurant in Ethel Street. The food was great, but it needs a lick of paint. Being opposite a vaping shop and a Wagamamma doesn't help either.
Apart from that, the area around the Town Hall and Art Gallery is fabulous - nice to see the floozy getting a bath too!

BTW, you can still see our bat on the rails (Villa colours) on the bridge 🙂

Gweetings folks, I have found a web page that gives live coverage from the ramp at JFK New York. The camera is usually fixe in location but it moves occasionally to capture notable aircraft from around the world.

Go to WEBCAMTAXI, when there search United States of America on the main menu, then find New York in the States sub menu and then scroll down the locations of the cameras.

It is completely free of charge and no membership required. You may also find a camera from any country and city/town, I often watch Hamburg Airport but many others are listed.

I have been away a while so if this is already covered somewhere on this forum, I apologise.
