Few little updates.

As referenced above, C3 / 203 is a live stand. This will be followed by C5 / 205 in this coming week.

Trials were completed on 206 this week with help of a Jet2 330. Expect to see something slightly bigger being trialled here in the coming week…

Lots of snagging works that need completing before final handover of the pier - Emirates lounge is still a shell at the moment.

Few things in the design of the pier that have been improved from Pier 1 and then other things that have been badly or not thought through at all.

Reconfiguration works are well underway on stands 29/31/61/62 - once these works are completed the dual taxiway will be able to open.

Thanks for the info.
Are Emirates fitting out the lounge themselves? Just wondering what the delay is…

As Emirates is the only airline / alliance lounge that we are aware of at present, it's especially disappointing if theirs isn't even going to be ready for when they move to T2. Not sure their premium passengers will be too happy about that if they've been used to the very good EK lounge in T1.

It appears that BA made the switch a day early, BA1402 was the last arrival into T3, with BA1404 and BA1406 going to T2, stands 103 and 105.

I’ll be on BA1404 this Saturday so if anyone wants images of the domestic arrivals setup for BA at T2 I can do that
This is the current setup for BA domestic arrivals at MAN as I experienced it this evening.

We parked on Stand 103, where we deboarded by airbridge. We were directed down the stairwell onto the apron where a bus was waiting. This bus deposited us next to a door opposite B gates under the main terminal building. If you look on Google Earth 3D it’s the black door to the right of the large yellow door. A series of perfectly dull corridors lead you into Baggage Reclaim 12, where toilets are also available. You exit through another corridor which eventually deposits you through a barbed wire fence gate between the terminal building and T2 Multi Storey West. There were no document or biometric checks throughout this process, however there were plentiful staff on hand guiding passengers through this route.

Thanks for detailing this.....would you say better experience v T3? Looks pretty grim and cobbled together to me. Suspect they will so similar on Pier C too

Is this a temporary route? Certainly looks so.

I assuming once the domestic arrivals portal is completed we will revert to using that with passengers being dropped off at the VCC to enter the domestic arrivals route. It is a bit short sighted of MAG to move ba over to T2 before the official domestic arrivals route is complete! Hopefully the experience improves once the works are complete.

It is definitely temporary as also confirmed by the MD a few days ago in the MACC meeting.
I think they have had to move due to the domestic arrivals route not being ready until after the deadline for T3 check in and security to close, as Ryanair will move to T1 departures for check in and security on 21st October, BA have had to move over to T2 now.

The airport have certainly kept Pier 2 opening very quiet. I wonder if they intent to announce grand opening of completion of T2, Pier 2 and dual Ops in one media shot! We can then look forward to next one T3 reconfiguration opening in 26!?

I was in Pier 2 this morning. Had a good nose around before heading to Pier1, as my flight was using 103/A03. There were no flights using Pier 2 at the time, ie. around 10:00, but plenty of staff in there on training / famil or perhaps finishing details of the fitting out. All looked quite smart anyway. My impression was that only the gates closest to the terminal are in public use at this point; perhaps they will stage a grand opening event once the whole pier comes online?

A few photos taken, by a friend, showing the MANTP progress and Pier 2. Did you know that there appears to be an airside transfer from T2 to T1 & T3?

The EI45 (A333) went off stand 207 this afternoon next to a Jet2 AC. I’m told the emirates lounge will be much later in 2026. They’re waiting for the designers to come over from Dubai to decide how it should look. Potential discussions about Etihad having their own lounge as well.

I would have thought Qatar with up to 4 flights a day might be ahead of Etihad for a lounge. It could also act as a One World lounge.
As for Emirates, I don't understand why the design of its lounge is only now being considered when it's been know for a few years they were having one.

It might have been Qatar, I was on the phone when it was being mentioned 😂

I’m sure Etihad had their own lounge in T1 until Covid…I stand to be corrected on that though…

The Emirates lounge will be ready by March next year apparently…

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
