I don`t know if I`m barking up wrong tree but could imagine if resurfacing being done the 380 could do some serious damage to new tarmac if only just laid as a lot of wheels on turning off stand

I don’t know for sure if it was resurfacing or repairs to the pavement bays, because it I recall, there was no tarmac in this area previously, it’s part of the new dual taxiway system. Looking at FR24, since the A380 went back to it’s usual stand in T2, it’s using a slightly different route to and from T2, so I imagine to avoid such potential damage taking place until the “repairs” have “settled in”.

I think that’s more to do with the dual taxiway system isn’t yet fully signed off by the CAA therefore it can’t be published. With the current WIP on taxiway Delta, all aircraft are using taxiway Echo which is slightly delaying some departures and arrivals onto stand.

I thought it’d been signed off last month ? Or maybe not.

Low to moderate delays this afternoon and increasing to high delays in the evening.

It doesn’t help that taxiway Delta is closed in places due to WIP, this particular NOTAM expires tomorrow evening.
There is another NOTAM for work on taxiway Lima which expires 15th March, this completion of works allows the complete opening of the new dual taxiway system.

Apparently so.

I've seen a couple of You Tube items. From turning off the runway at Manchester too getting off the bus at the domestic terminal took longer than the flight from LHR. Passengers not impressed.

These videos in my opinion are pointless until we have the final product in action. Although that won’t be perfect in everyone’s opinion, it’s got to be better than the current set up from what I have read and heard.

Better only in respect of not being dropped off in to back corridors in t2. The whole bussing on arrival part won’t change. Never mind not prefect, it’s frankly a farce that MAG spaffed so much money on t2 and failed to adequately provide a modern internal arrival route for UK/CTA arrivals. I am unaware of anyone who has experienced this who is positive about this.

The airbridge’s at T1 Pier C are staying as part of T2. As for the two at gate 12, not sure but this gate will be made into three code C aircraft eventually.

No idea…I can only assume it’s not a priority right now with other projects / WIP going on across the airfield.
