That is also very true in regards to Monarch/Jet2 especially as you can control more aspects of delays, re-routing cruise passengers etc. However say your sending 40 odd passengers down a week to AGP to join a cruise it comes back to the point what you going to do with the other 149 seats? Yes sure, sell as a package holiday but one would think thats pretty much sowed up by J2/J2H and the seat market well ... oversaturated perhaps.

Comes back to Norwegian would be better for the airport and thomson AND will allow the airport to build a fantastic relationship with Norwegian. But then thats purely selfish point of view of wanting to see a D8 aircraft.

"Sherburnflyer92" You'll actually be surprised to see how many regulars that just use Thomson Holidays package holiday charter flights from Leeds/Bradford. For some its "time and time again". I know one member on here whom especially agree with this now that they are restarting flights to Malaga. Right Snowman1?

Oh i have no doubt their ability to fill the aircraft week in week out June-September. My doubts are the yield that will be generated from said flight.

Looks like Thomson's are having problems sourcing aircraft fro next summer 2017. As the planned extra Friday Palma flight W-leg has now been removed from sale with seats been taken on Jet2 flights. Good news is that the new Sunday Malaga flight is still on sale with airline to be confirmed still.
Looks like Humberside and Liverpool have lost its planned flights to Tenerife too so its not just Leeds flights that are getting the chop

I know this has happened before,
But I've just read elsewhere that Thomson Airways have confirmed this week they are going to use a leased Boeing 737-800WL aircraft from Canadian operator Sunwing Airlines again for the Leeds/Bradford based summer 2017 charter flights.

Just looking at Thomson's website and it is still saying that the flights are operated by Thomson Airways, so we will have to wait and see!

Well technically it is Thomson Airways - they just lease the Sunwing aircraft to operate the flights in the same way Jet2 did last summer using a Titan 757.

As White Heather says LBA flights been operated by the leased Sunwing aircraft will continue to use the Thomson Airways flight numbers, Thomson callsign and use Thomson in-flight cabin crew.
Only thing you'll notice different is that the aircraft will be in Sunwing livery, Have a Canadian registration, Canadian flight crew and safety briefings in both English/French.

Which may be where the problems would lie if the conduct of their flight deck crew is as has been reported recently.
Not Cat 2 or 3 either but it is summer only so hopefully no problem.
Did we not have several incidents where the aircraft was taken away to other bases to operate delayed flights leaving our passengers stranded when they last operated from here.

I believe so. PAX were either delayed OR they were bussed to MAN. They committed to a full TOM aircraft last year so i don't understand why they cannot this year?

It is only a backward step if Thomson mess with our flights again as they did that year. The decisions are taken by Thomson Operations, not by Sunwing. Forget the aircraft. It might be in different colours with Canadians flying it, but it is, to all intents and purposes, a Thomson aircraft. The year our plane was pinched all those times - it would almost certainly have happened even if we had a based Thomson aircraft. It is Thomson's attitude to LBA that is the problem, not the Sunwing aircraft. Anyway, plenty of time for it to change again yet.

It's in our hands, don't book Thomson. You can fly to the same places with Jet2/Monarch/Ryanair.
I am sure there are plenty of customers who have no idea/not interested in the aircraft that takes them there

Thomson's still has the following flights and Holidays on sale for its summer 2017 program which is still larger than last summer even though we've lost 2 services which were originally planned. (1x Ibiza & 1x Palma).

Perhaps hardly surprising given the significant increase in flights being offered by Jet2Holidays and flight only with Ryanair.

Yeap someone somewhere was likely to get squeezed out of the market when you've got 2x airlines like Jet2 and Ryanair expanding at the rate they are planning this summer. I bet Monarch are happy not to be on that route as well otherwise they would most likely be in the same situation as Thomson's.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
