Nope. The councillors have said the conditions they want is that the nighttime new hours ONLY operate once the terminal is fully functional. If they were restricting a quiet "zone" if you will (Like LHR) it would have been a 10-4 victory. As CNCL Campbell would of voted in favour.
Fair enough I miss heard so no night time quiet period

They banged on about the airports contribution to the parkway but i got the impression the process wasnt yet at the point at which the airport had been asked to contribute. In other words the airport hadnt agreed to contribute but it hadnt said it wouldnt either.

The real fireworks start now. Fully expect GALBA to file a judicial review, followed by timewasting and litigation tactics.

Irony could be the UK government blocks airport expansion in Leeds that local government approved..... and forces through airport expansion at Heathrow that local government rejected. #hardworkstartsnow
“Judicial review (JR) is the process of challenging the lawfulness of decisions of public authorities, usually local or central government. The court has a "supervisory" role - making sure the decision maker acts lawfully. It is important to understand that a JR is not a re-run on the merits of the decision but a challenge to the lawfulness of the decision that was made.”
Let’s hope that all the avenues for such a review have been closed.

They kept banging on about this. Ironic if they make the airport contribute yet it's main use will be a park & rail.

Why? LBA doing this is in line with Government policy on aviation! They are encouraging making greater use of Regional airports to take pressure off SE airports. It's also within the CO2 budget for LBA set by Government.

Which is why it's taken so long - trying to ensure there is no legal challenge possible. GALBA were crowd funding to challenge in court but they will have to have some case against the process to do so, or it could cost them a lot of money!

What annoys me the most is the councillors against ignore the fact that blocking this would increase flights at Manc and the co2 therefore would be higher...

Congratulations from Brum, I saw the piece from LBAYORKIE live, and Cohen and Murison, all good speakers with compelling arguments!

Do we have an idea which airlines would be interested in starting flights with the new facility? I’m guessing Air France, Lufthansa, eurowings, SAS?

February 11th 2021

After 9 hours of deliberations and more than 100 pages of planning details later, Leeds City Council's Plans Panel committee members have this evening voted 9 to 5 in favour to approve “with considerations" Leeds-Bradford Airport's NEW £150 million Terminal Building.

We at the LBA Support Group are pleased to see a common sense outcome that support 100's of construction jobs at a time when they are needed the most. This project will create a better gateway to the Leeds City region and the whole of Yorkshire. The Investment will secure many jobs already benefiting from the airport and contribute to economic growth with new jobs created in both the aviation and travel industry. The new terminal will meet all the latest standards required including being BREEAM excellence rated as we move towards a carbon neutral future whilst also committing the airport to further improving public transport access.

Further considerations with changes to the conditions to be negotiated by officers:
The main considerations are. Primarily Leeds Bradford Airport increasing its funding towards the LBA Parkway Rail Station from the current allocated £1.5 million, Improve the approach roads and letting Hackney Carriage Taxi's on the airports onto the airports forecourt. Other considerations are to plant more trees and shrubs around the area to offset further carbon emissions.

Ends

No idea. LBA never say a word about such matters. I am sure they have a list of destinations and airlines they are keen on though. They have 2 to 3 years to get them onboard . After this delay and still more negotiations to come, plus approval by the Minister due to get belt rules, I can't see it being ready now until 2023/4. I don't think they will make Summer 23.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
