The Cardiff Airport Summer 2020 timetable has Corendon Airlines down to operate the away based Antalya and Dalaman for TUI and Albastar for the away based PMI.
The TUI website now has Freebird Airlines down as operating the Sunday Antalya and the Tuesday Dalaman and Albastar for the Monday away based PMI.

TUI Gran canaria has been diverted to Tenerife due to bad weather at LPA.

I also noticed that today there was a Barbados departure and there is another one tomorrow.

The TUI Gran canaria passengers that got diverted to Tenerife are now on their way home as TUI wasn't able to get them to Gran canaria and for many their cruise ship has left. Apparently they'll all receive a full refund but still I'm sure that is only small consolation.

I suppose that means the passengers who were waiting to return to CWL from LPA yesterday after their holiday are still on Gran Canaria.

Yes, TUI have had a chaotic weekend. I believe all customers due to arrive in Gran Canaria on Saturday have had their holidays/cruises cancelled (apart from BHX and DSA flights which arrived this morning but are now stuck there so inbounds cancelled). All Canaries flights today (to ACE and TFS) were cancelled from all bases (apart from LTN-ACE, EXT-ACE and BOH-ACE of which the latter two diverted to FUE then ferried over to ACE several hours later and operated the inbounds). TFS-ABZ operated and Saturday’s outbound CWL-LPA (diverted to TFS) passengers were flown home from TFS today with holidays cancelled). All passengers due to come home from the Canaries on Saturday/Sunday would appear to be stuck there. This will be an absolute nightmare to organise. Further to these cancellations and diversions, there have been some major delays.

Cancelled Saturday:
MAN-LPA-MAN
LGW-LPA-LGW
*CWL-LPA-CWL (operated CWL-TFS-CWL, pax brought home)
*TFS-BHX (only outbound operated)
*TFS-DSA (only outbound operated)

Cancelled Sunday:
BHX-ACE-BHX
BRS-ACE-BRS
CWL-ACE-CWL
DSA-ACE-DSA
LGW-ACE-LGW
MAN-ACE-MAN
LGW-TFS-LGW
EMA-TFS-EMA
ABZ-TFS
MAN-TFS-MAN
BRS-TFS-BRS
BHX-TFS-BHX
NCL-TFS-NCL

Although there is quite a while to go until Summer 2021 so it may well change I've noticed that potentially CWL could see 4 TUI aircraft operating on Mondays. There are 3 6am departures and a 11.25 departure to Sharm el Sheikh and none of 3 6am arrive back in time for it. At the moment though I can only find 2 afternoon departures. Hopefully that'll be filled with something else other than Sharm. Would be nice if they used the Dreamliner for Sharm so CWL had at least 1 weekly visit from a TUI 787 in the summer! I guess I can dream!

Apparently it's the same at a few different airports too. TUI have done this in the past, I'm guessing to gauge sales without building it into the schedule. Then moved things around by cancelling SSH if it doesn't perform, or another flight to make room for SSH.

TUI wont position in a Dreamliner for 1 flight.
What like they've been doing throughout the winter with Barbados and Jamaica for their own flights?
I think what is more probable is that TUI won't ever be interested in operating the 787 at CWL during the summer on any routes, long or short haul or mid haul like Egypt. Whatever happens in the future even if CWL obtains a 4th aircraft the proximity of BRS will almost guarentee that CWL won't see a TUI 787 on a regular basis during the summer. Still would be something nice to see though!

Not a big problem flying a Dreamliner to any airport for 1 destination in the winter time. The Dreamliner has more down time in winter than summer season.

I doubt very much TUI Dreamliners have much downtime throughout the year, they are just shifted onto different things.

As if Cardiff hasn't had enough problems now there's rumours of TUI cuts and you can almost guarantee Cardiff will be one of the casualties in that!

What's the source of the rumours?
Also why does everything have to be associated to CWL? Unless CWL has been mentioned specifically, cant we be more optimistic in this forum?
They are the sole holiday operator at CWL so can't see anything big happening.

The TUI cuts appear to be nationwide round the UK. The reason given for these cuts are the coronavirus and i would think the B737 max with its problems is in the mix as well. There seems to be no date or guess date for it to be in service again.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
