Iraqi A/W have two destinations from MAN Erbil and Sulaimaniyah,I have watched them on FR24 fligh the usual repeat aircraft from one airport to the other just to use the same plane  And yes TK1993 was TC-JSP again today.

It didnt land at Man but there was a RAF Sentinel doing circuits in the Oldham area this afternoon,If anyone did see it in the Oldham area today its been reported to be ZJ692 code 694.
Information has been gained from another mailing list Thank you

Where are those based? It's strange, I've never seen one all the time I've been an aviation nut, and now two come along at once, a bit like buses... There was another one circling over Norfolk.

Air China is reportedly stating Beijing-Manchester flights as I have asked them via Facebook and this is the chat between us.

Manni Ashraf- Hi when will the Manchester-Beijing flights start to and from manchester? Also air China have a flight to Manchester tonight? What is the reasoning behind this and when will direct flights start to the uk

Airchina- Hello Rehman, glad to heard from you. We will ask our UK office about it.see if they know something.

Manniashraf-Thanks I await your reply

AirChina-Hello Rehman, thanks for your patience. We are still negotiating with Manchester airport and not sure about the date. Thanks.

Manniashraf-Thanks very much!!!! I can't wait for the route to be launched also do you know what aircraft it's likely to be to manchester?

Airchina- Right now the plane for our coordinated transport is 777. Thanks for you attention.

Ive read that the holdup on Hainan was because Air China hold the rights to fly between MAN-PEK and Air china were not giving them up without a fight. But now they have retained them but no one knows if they will ever be used, but keep an eye on this one it may happen.

Just looked at tomorrow's arrivals for my friends flight from CUN, and realised just how cracking the MAN boards are.

From 0654-0750, as well as the usual euro flights, we have flights from Washington, Chicago, Cancun, Newark, JFK, Miami, Orlando, Montego Bay, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Hong Kong amongst others.

The barmy thing is, only 2 of those flights are also on narrowbodies, with the rest being B767/B777/B787/B747 and A330.

Talk about a long haul power hour!

Manchester airport doing what it should be doing for the North of England.

Did anybody ask for wide bodies?

B777's:

Cathay B77W, Saudia B772, Singapore B77W, Etihad B77W and Emirates B77W (tail just poking out above the Cathay)

A330's

2x Thomas Cook A332 and Virgin A330-300 tails in shot.

Just your typical morning thanks to someone called John Coe.

Went to the viewing park yesterday with the baby to smooth him, not been there in years.

What I was surprised at, are the new cargo sheds. They are huge! The DHL one was up and running of course, but, they are building a new cargo shed adjecant to the DHL which is massive. I don't know who is intending to use that one, but, let's hope they bring an air cargo operation with them, because, to match that sheds size, it will be a heafty flight schedule.

What also struck me was the sheer number of Chinese construction signs everywhere around the airport. I honestly think there were more Chinese signs than English ones!

It was clear to see where the money was coming from anyway!

Scary times in general me thinks but life goes on and we must carry on as always.

I think aviation security will need to be stepped up after recent events with a new focus on both hold luggage and airport workers. Here in the UK airport workers are subject to the same security process as the travelling public but I think there are still weaknesses that need to be addressed. (I'm not going to discuss them on here)

Two men reportedly arrested on suspicion of making a hoax in my opinion bomb call. If they or anyone else are convicted the court should hand down very long prison sentences - the maximum allowed by law for such offences. Forget sentencing guidelines in the current climate.

Thought it would be fun on a Sunday to visualise Manchesters route network. Sometimes a list doesn't quite put into context the network available, so, a map shows it off well.

Eastern long haul to start with:

map

North America and Carribean:

map

Northern Europe:

map

North Africa/Atlantic airports:

map

(SSH/TIP/NBE/MIR/DJE are currently suspended but all expected to return next summer).

And the eastern Mediterranean area:

And finally, the UK and Ireland network.

map

I know I have left a few destinations out, some by accident (Pula and Sal Island come to mind and I can't be bothered to re-do a whole map to put odd destinations on).

Some were left of deliberately, such as Erbil and Sulmanyiah as they have just been suspended, and while the airline says they will be back, we will have to wait and see.

Hope you enjoy, and, if you can, give a 'thanks' to show the work was worthwhile.

Most informative - many thanks. It's some network.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
