Do you mind if I ask your opinion lbaspotter?

Would it be worth re-routing the services between 11pm and 5am ever so slightly to serve a greater population base that provided a link for local as well as airport traffic? Or do you think that would just tempt people away from the bus? I ask as there are currently no night buses in Leeds and North West Leeds is a large population base. I was thinking that perhaps it could reroute up from the A65 up through Horsforth via Chrurch Street/Town street to the Old Ball pub, and then along Brownberrie Lane and Rawdon Town Street and finally through Yeadon? At that time of day, I'm sure it would take broadly the same length of time as the direct route at rush hour.

I'm totally with you on that one whoshotjimmi. The bus service to Rawdon and Yeadon is very poor in the evenings and on Sunday. Would be great to have a bus that goes from Rawdon down Horsforth Town Street.

I agree it's a nice idea. But with it been a contracted service by the airports owners I don't think it could happen, as they want passengers transfered into the Leeds city centre as quick as possible.
It will also depend on how long there getting per journey on theses over night runs. I get a feeling a return could be done in less than an hour which in theory would only require 1 bus in service. eg; 25 mins in each direction allowing 5 minutes standing on each end of the route.
It will be interesting to see the new timetable when it's released later this week.

Would I be right in thinking it would not serve the bus station over night?

Interesting piece in today's Yorkshire Post about the new £56 million link road to DSA being started, and Steve Gill the airport's MD quoted as saying, "Our airline partners are impressed with the ambition and drive behind this new road".
I know the road is part of a wider regeneration scheme but it feels like a different world to the one we inhabit at LBA. No mean feat either as it includes a 42 metre bridge over the ECML. So good on you DSA - that really is a case of making ambition a reality, rather than actionless words

Think it is easier to do work surrounding Finningley, as you exit the terminal and head towards the M18 south etc you have just open fields rather then the huge housing developments of the Aireborough area, it is a wonder any planning can get through the minefields of the NIMBY's that rightly protect an area that has seen a vast growth in residential homes in the last 25 years.
A bypass for the A65 has been needed for years and nothing to do with the airport and this has been impossible to acheive, getting additional links to LBA has always been a massive ask.
I am not sure access to the airport is the priority transport need.

Yeah I think you'll be correct with that Bigman.
The current early morning journey at 04:10 starts from Leeds Rail Station interchange whilst the 04:33 & 05:03 start form opposite the Leeds Bus Station on York Street. The first journey out of the Bus station is the 05:33.
Some of the current late inbound journeys also terminate early finishing at Leeds City Square at 23:02 00:02 & 00:47.

The new 757 bus timetable has just been upladed on to the Metro Journey planner here: http://www.wymetro.com/howtogetto/planajourney/

Here's a short look at the extra planned over night services.

Have to say as I use the 757 service to get back to Yeadon in the early hours, does seem quite a reasonable service during the day to get from the station to the airport, with the backup of the train to Guiseley if you want to cut out the bus service.

Well done yorkshire tiger. The 757 service would never of got this treatment under worst ever. Glad the airport took a chance with Y.T and it's paying off. Wonder if the loads on the early mornings of Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be good, serving the A65 corridor got to be cheaper than getting a taxi especially out rawdon and yeadon way.

I'm very pleased with the new schedule. For the first time it will allow passengers a chance to use the bus to connect with early morning check-in and early morning arriving flights. Through the summer months most nights see well over 1000 passengers coming in on arriving flights, previously with no option to use a bus to get to Leeds and the Railway Station.

Talking of taxi drivers, Arrow Cars are expanding, having just won the tender for providing the taxi service at Bristol Airport.

Just hope the bus service gets the promotion it requires, is usually quite full every time I use.

Great, late night buses home from Leeds after a good bender. Won't have to shell out over £20 for a rob-dog black and white cab.

Here's some important information regarding the 757 bus service going 24 hour operation as from Sunday, March 8th that's been posted on another forum:

Service 757 goes 24 hour

From Sunday 08 March 2015, service 757 will go to a 24 hour operation with the introduction of an hourly overnight service between the Airport and Leeds Rail Station.

Tickets and passes on 757 journeys between 0000 and 0500

Between 00:00 and 05:00 Senior & Disabled ENCTS concessions, MCards (all types), MetroCards (all types), MetroDay, all West Yorkshire DayRovers, the Kirkstall Road any operator ticket scheme between Leeds and Kirkstall, and First ticket bolt-on schemes are not valid on any journey and a flat fare will be in operation from all points.

The flat fare on above journeys will be £3.60 single / £6.00 return for all journeys; however for children/U18s in possession of the relevant Metro pass it will be £1.80 single / £3.00 return. Customers already holding return tickets to/from LBIA will not be charged further.

Yorkshire Tiger’s own ticket can be used at any time with no extra charge, however:
TigerDay tickets are only valid until 23:59 that day; so if bought at 04:00 it is valid until 23:59 that day. Tickets bought the preceding day cannot be used on the following overnight service. E.g. a TigerDay bought on Friday cannot be used on the Saturday AM overnight service.
TigerWeek tickets can be used up to 23:59 on the day of expiry, even on the overnight service.

OK, so who saw the 'On The Aire' news bulletin on the Made in Leeds channel last night?

Greg Mulholland has been lobbying for a rail link to the airport with the transport minister. Seems to be a growing impetus for this now and it is starting to sound a lot more promising.

Why don't we just rename the airport Manchester then the government will bend over backwards to give us the money the provide not only a rail link to the airport but a SuperTram line and a 6 lane motorway right up to the terminal doors.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
