Expansion of easyJet on off peak will do no harm using easyJet Europe. Palma, Faro, Malaga - all 3 of these route easy should be able to see without any real problems.

But surely, LBA is crying out for services to France, Germany and Italy city airports.
It is, but for some reason the airport are unable to tempt anyone to serve these destinations. But surely, LBA is crying out for services to France, Germany and Italy city airports.
I think the opposite, they have scaled back quite a bit at LPL recently in favour of MAN, they’ve pulled their bases at NCL, SEN and STN and flown increasingly to those places from other bases. Not sure why this move would result in them increasing at LPL? As mentioned elsewhere, they have a Europe wide network but their base network in the U.K. alienates probably 50% of the population. They ‘tried’ to set up shop at DSA but this proved fruitless, they have a token presence at LBA in the form of an BFS service a few times a week. They do not have a base in Birmingham. Most likely reaction (if any) will be for them to expand their offering at Liverpool (and maybe to a lesser extent Manchester).
There's a number of smaller airports that Jet2 operate to from other bases that EZY don't (Reus, Girona, Almeria, etc) whilst there's plenty of city destinations in Germany and Italy in particular that EZY could serve that Jet2 wouldn't.
My point being there's enough room for both to exist with relatively little competition. Only 11 of the 25 routes easyJet operate from LPL will have competition from Jet2, and of the 20 destinations Jet2 will operate to, 9 are destinations that easyJet don't.
easyJet likely have a list of bases they are planning/considering. Jet2 launching at LPL may cause EZY to shuffle some aircraft around and might delay some planned opening of bases, but I doubt it will re-order that list.
Infrastructure is the key word, currently we seriously lack in this area.It is, but for some reason the airport are unable to tempt anyone to serve these destinations.

I get why Jet2 have moved in to LPL, they had to to satisfy their growth plans. It’s also an efficient airport with a large market that they are now confident will compliment MAN. They will open more bases in the future. Easyjet are not a direct competitor to Jet2 any more, TUI are. I understand TUI have started selling holidays from LPL more using easyjet seats, which may help your argument when it comes to holiday destinations, but the based aircraft may be better utilised elsewhere. LBA being a prime example of a market neglected by them for years.
Problem for LBA is that there is no room, and I can’t imagine there would be much appetite to fly from Malaga and Faro during quieter times and in direct competition with Ryanair, I think it would be a base with primarily un-served and under-served destinations if/when it happens.
There are many ways of going forward, but only one way of standing still. My point wasn't so much saying easyJet would expand at Liverpool in response to a Jet2 base but more if they were to respond in any way, focussing on Liverpool would be more likely than launching any new routes to or open a base at Leeds.
I agree, appreciate my point previously was not clear. I’m not suggesting they will pull out of LPL and move everything to LBA, certainly not as a reaction to the move by Jet2 to open a base at LPL. That would never happen. My point wasn't so much saying easyJet would expand at Liverpool in response to a Jet2 base but more if they were to respond in any way, focussing on Liverpool would be more likely than launching any new routes to or open a base at Leeds.
They’ve been taking second hand ones with G-EJC- regs. Or they’ve been transferred from Easyjet Europe.Do we know whether these up to 10 are all to be on G register and whether some of these are to cover attrition?
Of course everywhere else but LBA!!
