To be honest at this stage I'd be happy with anything larger than the 787-8! :ROFLMAO:

And for God Sake's Jerry the 787 isn't a hundred series aircraft!!! 787-8 not 787-800, 787-9 not 787-900, 787-10 not 787-1000!!! :rage:

Haha it's rather a pet peeve of mine :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I think you meant me and not Jerry, sorry Jerry. :shamefullyembarrassed:

A 1% difference. I’m not even sure what point your trying to prove with that one to be honest, as it’s like comparing apples to oranges. You yourself admit that MAN has more rotations, and that’s even before you compare the difference in direct competition faced up the M6 and bigger aircraft (QR use the A350/B777 as well as the B788 at MAN versus the B788 at BHX, to which I notice you put the average EK load but not QR one, trying to hide something?)

And what month does the figure relate to? Jan stats not available for BHX but MAN reporting a high % increase on MAN-DOH for Jan, so, the numbers you quote could be out of date already.

Context is everything.

I guess what it says is yield wise there isn't much difference but there are more empty seats at MAN. Maybe a bit of oversupply with all of those rotations and a lot of ME competition. It could certainly absorb a downgrade of equipment or dropping a rotation.

I totally agree that the flight times at BHX are less attractive too.

I believe one of the things that helps Manchester is cargo, I am told that all post to Qatar is out of Manchester
so virtually paying for the aircraft and therefore any pax are a bonus and with pax increases over last 4 months
being in region 15 to 20+ % are making quite a lot of money

Wouldn't dispute that but it doesn't take any seats to deliver mail, they could still make better yields with smaller equipment or fewer rotations.

Its probably to do with J class as the 787 only has 22 seats and usually full and the 777 has 54 also January
figures quoted at 36000 plus a lot of cargo and post and it could take seats if the weight is right.

Yeah - the A350X was better. Both my wife and I thought there was more legroom in economy - the IFE system was superior (screen much better, faster and more responsive compared to the 777). I suppose the plane was just newer! I guess it was a nice surprise I was on the A350X as I wasn't expecting it.

Shame its just a one off and not a regular upgrade, but will still be nice to see.

Will this be BHX's first ever A350?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
