Not kidding, the straight sharp front and ridiculous cockpit windows makes it look something out a Lego kit and I’ve yet to see a livery that looks good on it. Granted the 1000 is moderately better but I still think the 789 and 7810 are much more asthetically pleasing.

Personally I think Malaysian Airlines negaraku livery looks amazing and I also think there standard livery looks great too

OK but 788 looks awful but the 78X is OK the A350X is amazing as it looks so sleek

I prefer the 789 over the A350 in any form mind you if Qatar were to bring the A350 in on a regular basis it would be highly welcome, then again at the risk of digressing the VC10 knocks spots of both of them.

Well at least this replaces city rivalry in all its forms! I must be an elephant since I can't forget the 787 battery issue. What was the update on that please? Is it still encased in a heavy fire-proof box 'just in case' or did they change to a safer system which I thought Airbus had introduced?

Anyway, the first visit of an Airbus A350 will be a great day for BHX and could be the start...
It does seem a little cruel otherwise by Qatar - thanks for the custom at BHX but you're not getting one of these until you plead harder via increased passenger nos.!

So is the preference for one over the other simply based on looks?

How shallow. Looks are not everything. Looks are merely an attractor. In order to establish a lasting and meaningful relationship we need to look deeper into their heart, soul and mind. Only then will we know if they are here to stay and help us breed and nurture others.

I see the Qatar A350 daily on the Miami webfeed and beats the Dreamliner everytime. In every respect it just sits right on the tarmac.

However Emirates showed class when they celebrated an anniversary by bringing the A380 and the rest, as they say, etc.

I'd take an ugly aircraft any time so long as it did the job and brought new services to any airport I used. Ugliness is subjective anyway.

Perhaps for someone who is interested in aviation I'm in a minority because I never bother what an aircraft looks like or how it is painted. As long as it gets me there safely, comfortably and reasonably on time then I'm usually content.

Obviously an aircraft's performance, economy of operation and size is of vital importance to airlines but cannot so-called ugly aircraft accomplish all that?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
