Reported on the Cardiff forum BHX cancelled to end of October along with Cardiff and Gatwick.

Also Reuters and the BBC are saying Qatar have told staff to be prepared for substantial redundancies to be announced including cabin crew.

Manchester is 3 weekly to end of May then 2 daily from June plus a lot of extra charters ( most days 2 A250) Shedules are anything from B788 to B777 so everything is very fluid at moment

May I direct you here:

as the conversation was in general as to how Qatar are operating re LHR, Gatwick etc I just filled the gap, Dublin seems to be like Manchester all sorts of flights and infact so are Emirates to Dublin as B773 just gone over.

Good we don`t want to lose any flights and Qatar do seem quite proactive and seem to have gained a niche during close down picking up most of the repat flights to UK

Well at least it gives Emirates a clear run along with Turkish to consolidate over the winter he says hopefully looking for a chink of light amongst the gloom.

Are they using Covid 19 as an exit excuse or could it be because no one can book with certainty? Noting they are keeping London, Manchester and Edinburgh open for bookings.

I always considered Qatar as an exotic rather than mainstream carrier for BHX! We shall perhaps see them again next spring though not expecting it.

COVID is not an excuse, bookings have been hit hard as many borders are closed. Keeping LHR/MAN & EDI open ensures anyone in the UK can fly with Qatar just need to travel to another airport !
I am sure they will back at BHX for S21 and hopefully back at CWL too.
Qatar have never been known for decent load factors from any of their UK departure points.
So re-directing the Midlands / South West elsewhere will fill a few more seats !

Rumours that Qatar are about to quit BHX, whether this is permanent or just temporary whilst we hopefully get back on our feet in about 6 months times, who knows with this pandemic

Any loss of routes/airlines at the moment is bad news as I really want to see the range of routes grow from Birmingham with it being my local airport.

However this rumoured route cancellation wouldn't come as a surprise as load factors pre-covid were pretty abysmal and with the challenges covid-19 has brought with it, I don't think the fortunes of the route will turn around. Looking at passenger figures most weeks an ATR72 (in terms of capacity only) would have been the right size.

I don't think this is in anyway a negative reflection on Birmingham though as other services to the region e.g. Emirates continue to attract droves of passengers and maybe it could also be an affect of a weak presence of OneWorld airlines at Birmingham. If this rumour does turn out to be true maybe airlines like Emirates and Turkish will be able to increase their services.

I hope Qatar come back to Birmingham BHX we need them and they are cheaper airline and better service to Pakistan /India they also have Amritsa flights I am not sure what happening to Birmingham International Airport UK BHX-

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
