Fairly certain that there were 10 A350-900 visits in Dec 19.

They sure did. In Dec 2019 QR used the A350 from the 12th to the 19th along with the 21st and 24th.

There has certainly been some 'chatter' about a possible return in March but this is Qatar we're talking about, best to believe it if/when it happens :)

Could it be twice because they are planning for the Beast to come visit? I hear they are recommissioning the 380's due to issues with the 350's.

Exactly, remember how loong it took for one of there tails to finally touch down at BHX. That geezer who owns them (Can't remember his name) mentioned BHX for a number of years before actually confirming flights. Blimey, by the time this goes around again the 1st trains will be arriving at our new Hs2 terminus at Curzon street, he he he he in 2030 :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I think you are referring to Akbar Al Baker. He doesn't own Qatar Airways, He is their CEO. He seems to be quite a character and has made some 'interesting' decisions in the past.

So soon Brum X? Even 2050 would be an achievement for Britain and by then we may not have electricity to power the lines. Especially if the French government succeed with their threat to deprive UK of their excess capacity, they being Nuclear generated.

Several Qatar advertising hoardings have popped up around the city and airport in recent days. Although not mentioning direct flights from BHX this has to be positive news.

Birmingham live have this as a news story …. Qatar to fly from Birmingham
it looks to me as just a copy & paste from here…
so I don’t think this adds any more to whether it will operate

I just telephoned the customer service number 033000240125 spoke to a customer services representative who said to hold the line whilst I check they he says they are looking forward Inshallah to start Birmingham for Common Wealth Games - I do hope they come it will be a lot of traffic only for Emirates. We need Qatar back in the second city demand is high and Tourism is of cause high lets see what happens he sounded confident they will be back in Birmingham soon - whilst at moment says must travel from London and Manchester - I am with fingers crossed they come to BHX we would welcome them back with warm arms fingers crossed - I do hope it is True we get Qatar back in Birmingham - overall love BHX x x x

Does QR intend to return to BHX soon? With the World Cup approaching, it would be ideal if they offered a service from BHX. I understand that they have aircraft shortages after grounding their A350s but Boeing will be resuming 787 deliveries from tomorrow. This will be good for QR as they have 23 789s left to be delivered. Im not aware of how many 789s have already been produced and will be delivered imminently but I'm guessing QR will use their 789s on routes that would be flown on the A350 or maybe upgrade certain routes from the 788. This could provide an opportunity for BHX to get QR back. How likely is it that QR will return this year?

I believe that along with their grounded A350's, Airbus have now cancelled delivery of any outstanding orders. This won't help the situation at QR. I agree that the 787's will be used on routes that were planned to be operated by A350's and those routers will be operated on a 'most profitable' first' basis. I'm not too confident that QR will be back at BHX this year, but hopefully next.

Also worth pointing out that Qatar have had to reduce their schedules during the World Cup to allow other airlines to fly into Doha.

I would have thought that if they were going to return at the start of the Winter season (end of October) we'd probably have heard it by now. Hopefully by New Year or S23 we'll have them back.

By the looks of it, Qatar have nine B787-9's built and awaiting delivery. Whether that will be enough to offset the grounded A350s is anyones guess.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
