Just landed is LH9873 which arrived from that very German destination, Heathrow. A320 D-AIWD

Aircraft broken at Frankfurt inbound LH948 cancelled however since Lufthansa rather more customer focused than a certain airline with an ensign on the tail, they have this evening canned LH917 out of Heathrow and positioned D-AIWD up to Manchester to cover the early morning LH949 highly valued connecting passengers get out on time .

And just to say LH9872 with D- AINJ just passed over my house about half an hour ago from Birmingham positioning into Heathrow !

Yes the football looks to be a complete damp squib for Friday and Saturday.

The Liverpool list is as dull as ditchwater with vast majority of departures between midnight and 5am.

Let's hope for extra time so we there is a decent batch of stuff Sunday morning.

No real surprise to see the reduction in MAN flights for Madrid.

Seem to be quite a few wide-bodies operating from LPL. Slightly surprised they have the apron space given the Easyjet / Ryanair a/c on the ground overnight. Mind you, MAN would have been stretched to accommodate much overflow anyway with all the airfield work going on.

That wasn't actually the case whilst there were plenty of early departures, Corseair 747, Virgin A330 , Ethiopian. 787 and Austral 787 all departed at sociable hours, so not dull at all.

Sorry Austral was B773, plus forgot Iberia A332. Some 767s and plenty of smaller stuff.

The list and pictures I have seen have been far from boring and since when have airports operated between 9am and 5pm.
It's obvious to me that the majority of flights were overnight due to availability of aircraft and slots at MAD.

Manchester United and Leeds United sharing the same plane, the fans will not be happy with that.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
