.........and did Air India not specifically obtain the Dreamliner for the BHX service instead of using the existing fleet? I too would be happy for a triple Seven to operate!
Whilst BHX was probably one of the routes for which the B787 was obtained, it's unlikely that it was obtained 'specifically' for BHX. Air India use the type on many routes.
Personally, I'd be happy to see the Air India service return to pre-pandemic frequencies with the B787, before thinking about larger aircraft.

According to an article in Simply Flying Air India are leasing six ex Delta 777s to expand direct services to the USA for the holiday season which begins in October. Air India also add that they intend to get their own 777s that are stuck in maintenance back in service soon for the same purpose so on the face of it seeing them at BHX in the near future seems unlikely.

They had similar maintenance/parts issues with the 787 which took ages to resolve in fact I'm not sure if they have sorted that out completely yet.

They have always been a bit of a law unto themselves over the years being the state flag carrier and now owned by TATA things may change but I imagine the old culture is deeply ingrained.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
