Have we had an increase from Air India, they are promoting flights to Kuala Kumpar from BHX daily via DEL starting 15th September? Are we not x 6 weekly atm?

Info credit to Air India

Explore Kuala Lumpur with Air India. Fly from Birmingham via Delhi, 7x weekly. Starting 15th Sep'24 at GBP 922*. Book now!. T&C apply.
As I have checked, air India plans on going daily starting September 15, this excludes ATQ however and the current flights to ATQ will be the same, meanwhile 2 additional flights specifically from DEL only

i cant see anywhere such information is available, either on the AI website or Google... is this in the public domain?

not public until the airline and ticket sales department approves it

But you have seen the plans?

Just to clarify, you state that AI is going daily from BHX but that BHX-ATQ remains unaffected but that 2x additional BHX-DEL will be added? This would mean AI going 8x weekly!?

Yes I agree, so no idea why this was posted to AI BHX thread ?

It was posted after my question this morning asking if Air India had increased frequency from BHX. It was Air India themselves who tweeted Birmingham to Kuala Lumpur daily via Delhi. So maybe a bit of misleading information from Air India ?

Maybe but @Scania1800 was suggesting he has seen other stuff which wasnt in the public domain to confirm as such but has subsequently gone quiet!

Maybe because I’m not free 24/7?

Are you saying additional BHX-India or India-Bangkok ?
It’s a merged deal they advertised, but they written it as “BHX-DEL” which made me think it’s going to be that route. But as of now it’s “DEL-KUL” but advertised incl BHX, once approval is gained by ticket office more information gets available and air India usually enters short phrases in planning when something hasnt gained approval yet

Approval has now gained, I have the advertising which air India has now posted everywhere. It states “introducing Birmingham to Kuala Lumpur, Via Delhi Daily, Starting 15th of September”, people will think BHX is daily, but only time will tell what they are going for

and why do you say that? Whats your reasoning? With lots more long haul aircraft being delivered to them, maybe if will free up some more dreamliners for us?
What’s my reasoning a few examples here⬇
  • with PIA coming back it will be a massive back lash on the Indian industry
  • Qatar,Emirates and saudia are all connected stop offs points at Doha,Dubai and Jeddah
  • We have at least near around to 100 weekly flights to Heathrow and Gatwick every week from India and with the speculation of Man-BOM route .
What was happening with this Hans airways that invisibly was supposed to operate

What a very odd and unfathomable reasoning….

- PIA aren’t coming back, I really don’t see why you are so fixed in this very faint idea. Even IF they come back, they will no doubt not be competitive to anyone
- Qatar, Emirates and Saudia are market generators. Their presence on the routes are more likely to encourage AI to compete… why do you think AI would happily let QR/EK/SV steal their UK-India markets?
- LHR/LGW are full and AI is interested in MAN-BOM… what does MAN-BOM have to do with BHX-DEL?

Do I think AI is going to fly BHX-DEL daily soon, unlikely! But imho, this has zero to do with the reasons you state!

according to some people, you only need 1 day in each of the Yorkshire Dales, North Wales and Lake District "to have seen it all". Which is why its minibus tour number 3 this year of the Yorkshire Dales for me on 16th October. Different routes and different things to see each tour.
Apologies for any issues today, I was planning on updating the site but sadly something went wrong so the upgrade has been postponed. Apologies again for any inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your kind donation to our running costs Jenny.
I've done 2 minibus tours with Mountain Goat this week. Monday was North York Moors with over 600 photos and today High Adventure in the Lakes with 750. photos. Slightly snap happy.
I've asked Gareth Southgate for the winning lottery numbers. He said 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6
