While the ban on international flights in India is extended to 31st September 2020, the huge demand for more direct flights to UK from Amritsar has led Air India to resume its direct Amritsar-Birmingham flight under Vande Bharat Mission. Air India is already operating direct 1x weekly flights between Amritsar and London Heathrow Airport under Vande Bharat Mission since 24th August 2020.

Starting 18th September 2020, Air India will also operate 1x weekly direct flights between Amritsar-Birmingham till 24th October 2020 under Vande Bharat Mission.

The Amritsar to Birmingham flight will depart Amritsar every Friday till October 23, while the Birmingham to Amritsar flight will depart every Saturday till 24th October. Airline has so far released schedule of flights only till October 24 under the mission.

Air India to continue weekly flights throughout the winter.

Air India this monthly gradually updated planned service to the UK, under the “Air Bubble” program. For winter 2020/21 season from 25OCT20 to 27MAR21, the Star Alliance carrier to operate following UK service, on board Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft.

Ahmedabad – London Heathrow 2 weekly
Amritsar – Birmingham 1 weekly
Amritsar – London Heathrow 1 weekly
Bangalore – London Heathrow 2 weekly
Delhi – London Heathrow 7 weekly
Goa – London Heathrow 2 weekly
Kochi – London Heathrow 3 weekly
Kolkata – London Heathrow 1 weekly
Mumbai – London Heathrow 4 weekly

Emirates achieved an average load per flight of 171 (or 41% LF) during September.

Considering Emirates is connecting onto multiple countries, and that India is closed to non-residents, 1 flight a week to India is still amazing IMHO!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
