I cannot get excited about any propeller aircraft since the demise of the Viscount. That aircraft sung to us in a way only jets could.
Totally agree. The shrill whine of a RR Dart (or better, four of them) had a magic to it. Many of today's propliners have a very 'dry' sound to them.

I think, perhaps, when a jetliner approaches in the descent phase, those engine noises remind me of the Vickers Viscount. It is clearly an acoustic effect within the atmosphere but the mind immediately recalls the days when the Viscount was dominant with British , at BHX.

I think you must have me confused with another member of this forum. My knowledge of cargo loads amounts to zero I'm afraid. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Oh sorry mate, yes I am indeed getting you confused with somebody else and for the life of me, can't remember his name ???? But he works for Emirates cargo at BHX ?

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
