I'm a bit late but thanks for the photo's Kevin, really enjoyed them (y)

The Cup Winners Cup Final and G8 Summit were both very special times indeed.

I have posted my G8 Summit photos previously so didn't want to repeat. I do have some more nostalgia photos, although not to match the excitement of the Cup Winners Cup and the G8.
I'll post them shortly if people arn't getting board.

Kevin

Love em Kevin, i could see them every day and still smile (y)

I too am nostalgic of those thunderous aircraft and no whispering jets in sight. A proper 737 in the best BA livery is what made spotting so enthralling, I often lost track of time and missed my 58 bus home. The bollockings I got were equally memorable!

Ah yes, a shameless attempt of confusion. Using a version of the BCAL lion on the rudder and the CAL identifier. At least BA owned the BCAL identity when they operated Caledonian.

Thank you Kevin.

Apparently Cal Air was the final name used by British Caledonian Charter, formally BCA Charter. The airline was a joint venture between British Caledonian and The Rank Organisation.
When BCAL merged with BA, Rank bought out the BCAL share of CAL Air and renamed it Novair.

I believe the BA jets are prepared for the World tails livery to be applied given the reduced blue and titles. AND, was that a RYANAIR in the Jaguar livery?

Excellent memories thank you Kevin.

Correct on both counts, Jenny!
The BA (more correctly Maersk) B737- 500's were in an interim livery. Yes, it is a Ryanair B737-200 in the Jaguar livery. I always thought it looked really good.
Glad that you enjoyed my photos.

Kevin

Fantastic photos @elmdon74! Funny how the majority of aircraft in those pictures have probably all been scrapped yet some of those Turkmenistan 757s are still regular visitors....well, they were up to last week!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
