Yes it’s strange that ER target aviation and not an Amazon distribution centre for example, which imports thousands of shipped goods and has 100’s of courier vans delivering 18 hours a day.

I work in a sector that has seen courier deliveries increase massively post Covid 19 so with imports and distribution are adding massively to carbon emissions but that’s ignored.

These people will be marching today or tomorrow and are generally just anarchists against the state. They’re a minority but seem to have a big voice. I wonder what their solution is to the problem, mud huts, horse and cart and gardens growing your own veg.......oh sorry not horses as they create methane, damages the ozone!!

They would argue we are stuck in a pre covid bubble, but we could argue the same. So many people objecting to any airport expansion at a time when the economy is on its arse. Just what exactly do these people do for a living to earn money.

As long as we live in a Carbon Free/Carbon Netural world - who gives a f about peoples jobs, the economy, the money made by the Government to pay for NHS, Schools and the list goes on from aviation etc. That is all they care about. Forget about the rest. Idiots.

Certain pressure groups are lobbying for the economy to be kick started post COVID by green initiatives. One suggestion is that instead of investing in much needed infrastructure and road repairs the Government should instead concentrate its efforts on house insulation. Seems like they left the asylum door unlocked yet again.

Another angle to look at.....how much money will the treasury lose by going green? There's a time and place for this, but not when the economy is taking the worst hit since the last 300 years.

As an example.....

electric cars poses a big financial problem for the government – because every time a driver switches from a petrol or diesel car to an electric vehicle, the government loses 59.9p per litre in fuel tax at every fill-up. That's about a £30 Billion hit each year!!

They screwed be over I was surpose to use it in December to connect to my flight from Heathrow so they changed me to Manchester no compensation for my travel to Manchester there a joke of an airline

Reading between the lines they’re screwing over most if not all of their entire workforce, I don’t think they care about the passengers affected at LBA or any other.

BA is extremely profitable but to me is a total wreck of a national airline....

Seems to be fine when I search.

The direct BA option LGW-MCO for those dates is £29.6k in total.

If you want to go on EI you may be better off pricing it on the EI - BA will only offer BA codeshares which will have different (and possibly more limited) far class availability.

There also seem to be some much cheaper fares from MAN on VS (£21.1k) although it looks like it would not be direct on the return for that date and you would have to connect in the US somewhere.

Enough to make one weep, these birds served us only to be obliterated. Could not anyone have purchased or leased one for preservation at some airfield or leisure park and repurposed them as a point of revenue or educational tool? Conversion to a B&B or eatery or observation platform at an airport unwilling to provide infrastructure for enthusiasts?

Watching Plane Reclaimers was painful last night , one wonders how much was recovered in cash terms for the owners of the aircraft?

Have a mate who is a train spotter and we have discussed this a number of times. On a large plot of land with a large customer base use a train carriage as a bar and a widebody aircraft as the main club. A B747 would be ideal with mass space inside and the VIP area could be upstairs, the aircraft would be in one piece so all wings, tail, wheels etc would be there to give a great effect and a fancy club design on the fuselage. My mate wants to use a class153 train as the bar as im told these are gradually going out of service. Anyway I will keep dreaming!

Haven't they just signed a deal Amex that nets the IAG several million pounds to use the system as part of the Amex rewards.

A little matter of $955 million or £750 million over the next few years that will help keep the wolf from the door.

The Amex deal is just a renewal of the existing deal.

There's still online market places that sell upto 100,000 miles for considerably lot less. A bit of a grey area.

Not really grey area, it is explicitly against the terms and conditions of the exec club to sell avios.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
