I counted just over 100 pax on last nights flight from LHR. The service was over 30 mins late owing to a delay inbound to LHR from Oslo. It's the first time I haven't used the airbridge on that service, so it was novel to see the business suits struggling down the windy steps and ramming on to the bus. At least we didn't have to trek through the long bus shelter like the Ryanair punters.

Looks like Leeds/Bradford Airport is working with London Heathrow Airport (by supporting the 3rd runway) to try and get British Airways to add a 4th daily shuttle service according to the following article on the Yorkshire Evening Post website.

Leeds Bradford Airport links up with Heathrow

Leeds Bradford and Heathrow airports are forging closer ties in a bid to support a third runway at the London hub, which they say would bring wealth and jobs to Yorkshire.

At a dinner at the House of Commons for eight local MPs, Heathrow laid out its plans to bring Yorkshire businesses on stream in the development of the third runway.

As has been the case every September the loads on the LHR route have been absolutely tremendous the last few weeks.

Great to see them so full.

One World was always going to be the best option over the Star Alliance. If we'd had One World previously we might never have lost our Heathrow connection in the first place. Fingers crossed the route continues to go from strength to strength and long may it continue.

Does anyone know the reason for the 3 hour delay on today's 14.25 service?

Actually it looks like the aircraft G-EUPP was used for the earlier BA1340/BA1341 rotation which ended up getting back to LHR two hours late, and this knocked on to the BA1342/1343 rotation. Seems a bit unusual that the same aircraft would be used for both rotations but I think because it was late, aircraft had been shuffled around at LHR and the aircraft originally due to be used for BA1342/1343 ended up being used elsewhere.

The earlier BA was in the hold due low cloud and LVPs . I don't know if that had anything to do with the delay.

Just having a browse for some LHR flights and noticed that BA have made changes to the last flight south again for the winter - now leaving LBA at 19.40 arriving LHR at 20.45 which does give some scope for long haul connectivity!

So far the annual winter cull of flights does not seem to have taken place!

Unfortunately, this does not appear to ring true on Sundays on November where I needed the late Northbound which does not exist. I am now forced to look at other options.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone worked out the average load factor for August?

Could that not be down to the fact that less business trips are made during the summer months? In which case, it would suggest that the route is being used well for business.

Doesn't London City have far more passengers in Winter than Summer for this reason?

According to a report in yesterday's Sunday Times, BA have been cancelling some long haul and short haul flights out of Heathrow to prove that a third runway was not needed. That may be why some flights to and from LBA have been turning up!

Is this because another runway would equal more flights by other carriers which means more competition and potentially less profit?

At Heathrow for a couple of days and arrived here on the morning Ba flight which was as far as I could tell was full. Seen over 20 A380s and 30 B788s today amazing place to spend some spare time.

There is a general shortage of short haul pilots and I also think cabin crew at BA so over teh last year quite a few short haul/domestic routes have taken one or two cuts. LBA has suffered from this as well.

That certainly matches with my observations. The LBA flights keep getting busier, and September was a record month at 15,590. September 2014 was the previous record at 13,696 so this September represents a 13.83% increase.

2015 looks like it is on track for a >10% in passenger numbers compared to 2014.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
