As I mention in another thread, Norwegian as a condition of new capital has had to agree not to continue with its purchase of the 195 new aircraft and it has to put forward plans to sell off parts of the business, The financial Times thinks the transatlantic business will be at the top of the list.
Its currancy issues are a major headache, movement of the euro, Pound and Dollar against the Norwegian Kroner have put extra strain on the company.
I was in Norway last month, for an oldie cash no longer king was strange, certainly the cost of food and drink was eye watering, I await this months statements. Everyone and everything lives by the smart phone.

As I mention in another thread, Norwegian as a condition of new capital has had to agree not
There is a rumour that Easyjet may well raise £3 billion in bonds to buy Norwegian or part of it. I'd have thought that the long haul wouldn't be attractive but some of short haul might.

Returning to Ryanair, see the Chairman has agreed to stand down and MOL is to sign a new 5 year deal but not as CEO, after refusing to sign for more then a year at last years AGM
In addition with all the fun and games on ownership were now to have one company embracing all the present set up, Irish, U.k. Polish etc which I assume will make it fully european, but not sure about u.k. flying rights.
Its no wonder the e.u. have stepped away on creating a date when they have to decide on ownership, this is too big even for them to make a shot gun decision.

Interesting.....
RYANAIR investors are preparing to launch a concerted bid to block boss Michael O’Leary’s controversial €100m (£90m) bonus package.
The low-cost airline shocked shareholders two weeks ago by announcing Mr O’Leary would potentially be entitled to the shares-based payout, despite being savaged by stock markets since last summer.
I have no problems on him being paid any earned bonus, I am just glad he has agreed to remain with the company, but we dont know what his role will be as he has refused to accept the conditions laid down for the CEO.
As a long term shareholder you dont look at the last 6 months, more the last 5 years and the next 5 years.
Every company will have a blip, assuming we know the reasons for the currant down turn, wish I think we do, the future is mapped out.

To ensure Ryanair and all other LBA based airlines continue to be based at LBA, lets give them all the support we can on this winter schedule and future ones as well.
The LCC model is under the most serious pressure since its inception 20 years ago, if we dont use whats on offer it may well disappear.
This is nothing to do with brexit but due too to many carriers, offering too many routes, seats and bases.
We all need to promote LBA , the new Chairman and CEO of Ryanair are going to have a blank piece of paper in front of them and a need to save millions of pounds, we need them to write LBA on the paper.

Louis it’s not that long ago before Ryanair came we went nowhere in Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb..Yes Jet2 did Chritsmas and NY but that was it...be greatful of what we have are are getting next winter because I am....no need to trek over the hill in winter anymore in my case.
It's great that they offer services through winter but it just frustrates me that they have such a large portfolio off routes and don't choose to serve them from Leeds when we are crying out for them! Berlin, Madrid, Lisbon so many holiday routes, even some extra Eastern European ones to keep up with competition down the hill. Berlin and Madrid 3-4 times a week would be 100% utilised, lets just get Brexit out of the way then hopefully the aviation future in the UK will be much clearer.

Just had a look on the Ryanair website. This is what I get for the LBA Winter 2019/2020 schedule which has been put on sale over the past few days. Looks like we have a few changes most notably extra flights been added to the ever popular Malaga and Alicante whilst Futeventura see's a reduction and Las Palmas/Gran Canaria is the only route not on sale.

Dublin = No change 13x weekly - (2x daily MON/TUE/WED/THU/FRI/SAT & 1x daily SUN)
Malaga = Increased from 3x to 4x weekly, new Sunday flight added - (MON/WED/FRI/SUN)

Murcia Corvera = No change 2x weekly - (TUE/SAT)
Tenerife South = No Change 3x weekly - (TUE/THU/SAT)
Arrecife = Remains 3x weekly, Tuesday flight moves to Sunday - (THU/SAT/SUN)
Fuerteventura = Reduced from 2x to 1x weekly - (SUN)

Let's be honest - the LON/UK to BFS and LON to EDI/GLA market is dominated by easyJet and Ryanair were very late to the party. These routes probably are sitting on a profit but not like, for example a TFS route generates.

Cancelling these routes is the obvious one tbh.

I can’t really decide whether the 737 Max situation is a reason or an just excuse to cut less profitable routes. Even Ryanair have to be cautious in the current uncertain aviation climate.

At the September AGM and after the woeful results to the 31st December, company policy to cut a substantial number of routes and curtail new routes. I am sure your right that the 737 Max is just window dressing.
As the number of european airlines failing since the AGM has not hit MOL numbers, he said a more ruthless approach would be needed this spring, the release of March quarters figures next month, will show the direction of travel.
Obviously the new Chairman will want to make his mark at the AGM, because of the airlines european scope, the u.k. should avoid the main blood bath.

I have only just noticed this, but it would seem that Ryanair have added up to 14x end of season extra rotations from Leeds/Bradford during October/November which also coincides with the half term school holidays.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
