Loads did go down in November 2010 but that is just one month and you can't really calculate Decembers Accurately due to all the snow disruption.

Probably being taken out of proportion, but a post on the fruit forum suggests Wizz have been in talks with EMA. One person suggested they may look at moving their DSA operation to EMA due to decreasing loads. Very large pinch of salt needed, particularly as 'TimmyW' aka Mrfrost from the old egcn forums has commented on it.

Are Wizzair looking at EMA? Heard a rumor last week they were... to GDN, POZ and WAW?

If true, then maybe they are re locating the Doncaster flights to EMA as their loads have dropped significantly between 20 and 35% in the past six months. The flights would then operate from an airport with a larger passenger catchment area.

I presume this is the rumour we are on about. I don't see Wizz exiting DSA for quite some time yet.
Wizz keep adding new routes from here Vilnius and the reintroduction of Wroclaw Flights last year.
We retained 2 Warsaw flights when many other airports lost there Warsaw flight with Wizz this summer.

If they were to leave it would be a shock to myself. but i might prepare for eating my words after i've said that.

It will probably just be the usual business relations type visit if there is any truth in it. MAG have tried to attract Wizz away before I believe, perhaps they just want a better deal from DSA.

90% certain that Wizz will be moving to EMA from DSA in 2012. They were holding talks with EMA in June this year.

Bad news for DSA if it happens, as Wizz make up a lot of the passenger figures, and with the loss of routes and flight numbers seemingly happening on a monthly basis, you have to worry for the future of DSA, as there is very little chance of any new airlines coming on.

Look at the losses recently.

Thomson have axed 4 routes, and decreased frequency on others.
Thomas Cook have axed routes.
FlyBe have cut the Dublin route to 4 per week from 6, and looks unlikely Jersey will continue next summer.
Unconfirmed if Ryanair will return next year

Add to this the recent loss of Easyjet and Lingus, with no one else even showing an interest, you cant really see anything positive happening.

If it is at all true and Wizz have been in talks with EMA, how is it necessary that it would be at the expense of DSAs flights? From what I can see they are doing well..

Whilst you obviously relish the thought of wizz moving to EMA, and no doubt ultimatly the closure of DSA, what you need to remember is that it isnt just about passenger numbers falling, it isnt about 'ooh my airport is better than yours', its about the 50 or so people's livlihoods that depend on those wizzair flights, and the Thomson/thomas cook ones at that, which are at risk from such news.

If your job was one at risk from a possible wizz pullout, would you be so quick to almost mock the news like you have done on other forums? No? Thought not.

Please grow up and have some respect.

No problem aviador, but, surely if this stuff is being posted on a public forum, we can ourselves find if something is acceptable or unnacceptable?
What is acceptable to one person may not be to another, and if somebody is questioning the integraty of some of your friends livlihoods, surely we have the right to confront that person and at least find out what they base their findings on, rather than just a 'ticking off' from a moderator?

Thank you for your concern User001, but as I said before, we have a dedicated moderator team who have all been chosen for their balanced views and I trust them to take the appropriate action when required.

Furthermore, We have not received any complaints through the 'report post' function which is the correct way of reporting posts, not within the forum itself.

Not sure where I have mocked, and if you look on other forums, this has been widely talked about that Wizz are going to up sticks and move to EMA.

The other issues are apparent with the cutbacks on flights, i'm not mocking, just pointing out the future of DSA does not look good, unless something changes soon.

Some decent passenger numbers this summer though, a good increase when you take away the loss Of Easyjet etc, but things will look bad next year unless something drastic changes.

Is DSA still losing the reported 1 million per month?

It has been 'widely talked about' by you under a different user name Carnage. There is nothing solid to suggest that Wizz are seriously considering operating from EMA, let alone upping sticks and moving their operation there..

Wizz has just stopped its Monday flight to Gdansk from DSA. It was meant to run through October until the winter timetable starts. Surprising as the loads have been good.

Press conference in Ljubljana tommorow regarding Wizzair moving back in. It has been mentioned that there will be three new UK routes, so I expect DSA may well be one of those if that is true.

I have it at 25 weekly flights during the peak ski season. Otherwise it's only 24 weekly flights. So it looks like it's going to be another quite winter for DSA again.

That is what am lead to belive. That yes its a drop in services compared to last winter. Wither i'm right or not, I cannot 100% confirm that. But I guess there must be someone or a DSA local that can..
