No loss for Humberside, a purpose built BAe Systems academy will be developed at HUY..

I'm concerned that people are hanging onto this operator as some kind of saviour.

It would appear that they have suspended operations over the quiet winter period. Presumably, businesses go into hibernation and don't need flights to Belfast at this time of year! ;)

That's unbelievable the airline can't muster up what four or five passengers per flight to make it happen. If Belfast wont work I'm struggling to think of any scheduled route that will work for them.

Links now have the lucrative Cardiff-Anglesey PSO contract from the Wales Assembly Government and have indicated that they plan more routes from CWL. With this generous addition to their financial coffers, plus the fact that the WAG seems determined to plough in more money to get routes from CWL, Wales may now be their Promised Land.

It's extremely doubtful that any Links routes from CWL would work on a purely commercial basis with no contribution from the public purse.

Well it would seem the state funding from the Welsh Government is worth more than the limited number of passengers Doncaster airport has to offer.

When we had services from the late and sometimes lamented Sheffield City Airport to Belfast, using BA Regional's J41s. it was fairly well used. Could it be that the J31's used by Links Air are....too small, too slow, fly at a much lower and therefore "bumpy" altitude...and lack "facilities". I know the J41 isn't much larger but it is perceived as more "airline" than its smaller version.

I'd question how serious Links Air are. I also wonder what sort of deal they were given my DSA to base there... As I fully believe they were pushed from HUY in favour of BAe..

Another forum has suggestions that they have abandoned the routes to Belfast through a lack of custom????

Hardly surprising, there's a difference between operating on a shoe string and having a low cost base. Good news that Wizz and Thomson are increasing their network from DSA, but still no business friendly routes to take the place to the next level of growth..

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
