Just drove along the Cov Road (As a passenger, May I add )

Some good news on a very depressing day, however I am assuming this crisis will also have an impact on aircraft maintenance facilities or will these places be really busy whilst airlines decide to give there aircraft some TLC whilst not operational over the coming weeks/months ?

The well managed carriers will have made provision for on going and unexpected maintenance and current account cash flow should only have impact on future unplanned issues such as when aircraft go technical off station and emergency leasing of replacement equipment from WAMOS or HIFLY etc., this is my limited understanding.

STS may get a chance to prove their worth soon enough as AIRLINES bring forward necessary work during quiet times.

Any plans airlines have would have been based on continuing sales of tickets. With their main source of revenue gone, airlines will be looking at stopping any non-essential outgoings.

Also aircrafts fleets will either be flying or grounded/in storage for the next few months. Once an aircraft is in storage, its not a simple matter of just taking it out of storage.

STS have not yet been granted regulator approval to carry out maintenance,. When granted they then have a period before they will get full approval to carry out heavy checks until then they can only lighter stuff like A checks, mods,AOG'S etc.

Short term storage checks are carried out regularly to keep aircraft in a ready to fly state.

So who exactly is servicing the Neos 789s ?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
