Still noticing a lot of E175s around which seems to be making a bit of a mockery of the frequency increase. Is this due to Half Term or something that was planned and will continue because I was under the impression it was only supposed to be the new lunchtime rotation that was "officially" a 175?

I don’t think it makes a mockery. If the e190 runs normally at say 75 load factor, then the e175 would still have spare seats. Using that 75 load factor indicatively, and assuming all flights mirror the load factor, then there is still a significant uplift. From KLM’s perspective, if they can do that on the smaller aircraft, with potentially lower cost, how is that making a mockery? It’s called a win-win. The airport and airline see an uplift in passengers, the airline contains costs and the customer benefits from the extra daily rotation.

We generally had 2 E190s and and an E175 per day until last week. We currently have 2 of each, so an extra E175. Surely that's a good thing? Having the additional flight is more important than whether or not its an E175, 190 or even the E195-2. I'm sure if bookings warrant it, the balance will change but for now, its still extra seats and extra flexibility for passengers.

My comment was based on the fact that when the scheduled were originally released I believe it was 2 x E190, 1 x E175 and 1 x E295. I also accept that KLM can be quite fluid in their aircraft utilisation and agree a 4th rotation is still good news overall. Was perhaps more curious if loads had dropped off on other flights because of that 4th rotation so perhaps should have worded that better. But thanks for jumping all over it @HX3 as it does come across as something you do seem to take pleasure in doing

@Finger66 I haven’t jumped over anything, I’ve just replied to your post and provided a counter point, so I’m not quite sure what your issue is. white Heather has made a similar point and not got called out by you. You refer to making a mockery and I questioned that? That’s hardly jumping all over something and how am I getting pleasure from it? It’s an open question.

I’ll be really honest, you are the second person on this forum to be personal towards me in the last month, when you know absolutely nothing about me. I’m an adult, with a life, I don’t live for this forum, it is supposed to be an enjoyable and informative pastime.

I always treat people as I would like to be treated, with respect. Your inference that I take pleasure from my comments is not appreciated.

It’s perfectly normal that they may downgrade aircraft when increasing frequency. It will help them balance not adding too many seats into the market but offer LBA passengers more choice and better connections.

This will in turn result in more using the route and they can upgrade to larger aircraft once the additional frequency starts to bed in.

I didn’t know but the 175’s have 88 seats, I assumed it was in the 70’s for some reason. The 190’s have 100 seats so not much difference between the 2. I suppose there is a flexible curtain where they can increase or decrease the size of business class were needed. I think they just block the seat next to you in business class as most European airlines do.

Once again I note that either tempers are getting frayed, or people are misreading what is being posted.

As a Moderator I read every post written on this forum and it can take time to follow everything that is being said.

Please, please can you think before you press the "enter" button. What you, the poster, may think is a harmless comment can be misinterpreted by another member.

We don't want to have to place restrictions on anybody, as you all have useful knowledge to share across the board.

Right, it's been a busy and tiring day, so can we all just settle down. Thank you.

In the interest of forum harmony, possibly even rules and generally to not aggravate the situation further it is in everyone's interests that no further comments were made. I will leave it at that so @Scottie Dog as moderator your comments are noted and I have fully settled down

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
