Currently sat in LBA departures waiting for flight fr9079 to ALC, my aircraft appears to be the inbound lanzarote flight which is on time probably due to tail wind, airport relatively quiet although still a good amount of flights esp been jan, was thru security in literally 2 mins, all very organised and friendly staff, all good so far
Must add that the terminal extension really does make the airport look alot larger and once the finishing touches are completed i feel it will look pretty decent.

Update, slight delay leaving, flight around 3/4 full.

UPDATE.....As you know we were due out tomorrow morning and having checked 3 different and independant weather sources all are predicting snow armaggedon and that before we actually get to the airport and no guarantees..I`m frightened for my wife with her reduced mobility, of some sort of fall etc...so long story short I spoke to Jet2 by phone and they really were magnificent..At my request we are now going out on Tuesday when things should be better, all done and sorted in one phone call..The other issue was her being stuck in a wheelchair for hours in the terminal.....
So 2 calls later and all sorted at the other end..
I`ll do the update but it will be late but thanks again to Jet2...A credit to Leeds

Please bear with me this is an unexpergate story of truth...We arrived at LBA drop off point at 6.15am today...full of ice and snow for my disabled wife ..We got to the assistance desk who were brilliant..We got through security got a coffee wife in a wheelchair but Jet2 staff arrived and helped beyond belief...At the appointed time I had to leave her and go through the normal channels .She had to go on the ambulift because LBA hadn't managed to clear the ramp area and our jet couldn't have rear steps attached...It was upsetting after 46 years of marriage to have to leave her....
I spoke to ground staff from the airport and from Jet2 who independently placed the fault for this shambles directly at the door of LBA management...These are lovely caring hardworking staff, who are a credit to the operation..God Love every one of them..
As usual a great place is let down by Carpetbaggers en route to their next appointments..talking the talk but no idea how to walk the walk.....
Not my view but the views of lovely people having to suffer these utter tossers...Sadly so in Britain these days...

Great thanks to Capt Greg Perkin, who graciously received me in the flight deck on arrival at Fue .. The TO was unbelievable..off on 32 held on full power until she shook V1 before Multiflight and rotated just past.Hevsaid the air was so thin he made her have it as he was on limits and not much in reserve..

The air is denser on cold days, so I am surprised that the air would have been described as thinner, given that the temperature would have been around freezing. Colder/dense air would also give more lift over the wing allowing for a better climb performance. I know the airport is on a hill, but the height is only 600 and a bit asl. Maybe global warming is making the air thinner?

You may well be right...I'm a layman in such matters and may well have misunderstood..The Captain was the professional in all this and without doubt called it right...but either way it was one helluva take off....

It's a May late afternoon flight so has been moved from Cityhopper. My Dutch friend's brother is s pilot for KL and they have been moving Cityhopper pilots (like him) to long haul to protect the 777 schedule hence needing this swap. He mentioned that to work for KL as a pilot you had to speak Dutch and its causing problems for them.

Are the aircraft Cat 3 capable and crew trained !
I think my long haul trips are unlikely to start with Leeds to Amsterdam and take the chance of the first leg of the journey going wrong with Eastern Air.
See how it goes shall we !
We now need Easyjet on the route.

Hi, I was born and lived in B36 for a long time - Lindale Avenue, just around the corner from Hodge Hill Comp.
I just noticed your postcode on a post.

Do you still live in the area?
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 2nd time
If you’re tired of takeoffs, you’re tired of life.
49 trips undertaken last year. First done this year which was to North Wales where surprisingly the only slippery surfaces were in Conwy with the castle and it's walls closed due to the ice.
