Today's Air India is VT-ANI. Is this a first visit since she has returned to flying following the cannibalisation?

It's also sad to see that VT-AND which was their first 787 to visit BHX is out of service long term :s_sad

TF-FIU operated today's FI494. I missed it as I was out... Every time it's come to BHX, circumstances have conspired against me :shout:

G-TCDA which has the Egypt livery (which I love and is another reason to miss the 757's) operated their flight from Corfu although I'm unsure as to whether it is now based. Ironic that after the promise of the Sunny Heart livery our longest based TCX A321 has been G-NIKO.

The other day FR24 was showing two Flybe flights as having diverted to Oxford.
?!

Awful weather today. G-OZBZ diverted to MAN and G-EZBB flew over my house while going around.

I saw a couple of Antonovs this afternoon, or rather one of them was heard.

For those that want to brave the weather VT-ANU is doing AIC113/114 tonight.

Sorry to be rather "picky" here but when we mention Air India on the BHX pages for whatever reason, ive noticed that we use AIC113/114 ???? Is there a reason for this ???

Is it not just AI113/114, where does the C appear from ????? Sorry about this but it has "bugged" me for a while now, he he he he

'AI' is the IATA code and 'AIC' is the ICAO code. Similar to EK40 and UAE40 or LH959 and DLH959.

Have a look on FR24 where it displays both 🙂

Thanks for clarifying that, didnt even know about the ICAO code, LOL

No worries 🙂

I heard yesterday that we could see a fly by from a Dakota sometime on Friday afternoon, something to do with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

I've looked on their website and nothing is mentioned, they are flying over the weekend in Morecambe on Sat and Abingdon on Sun so I guess it could possibly be something en route?

The info came from somebody at the Coventry Air Show but I can't be sure of it's accuracy.

Has anyone else heard anything?

Possibly something to do with the VE day celebrations. I would like to think that there would be something to mark such a day.

Privilege Style 757 EC-ISY just arrived from Madrid, I assume it'll be flying for Monarch?

I hear Privilege Style are good quality but what are Jet Time like as an airline? I ask because I believe the quality of the leased planes does a lot for an airline's image, and Monarch got a lot of bad press for the Aurela and Air Explore 737s that were leased back in S13.

I've not heard anything about them good or bad and they don't have any entries on Skytrax.

I don't think it could be much worse than that Aurela 737 we saw a couple of years ago, apparently it was in an horrendous state inside.

There are some reviews on the link below which seem to give a mixed view. They're all in Danish (I think) so Google Translate may be needed 🙂

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Dakota is indeed scheduled to do a fly past tomorrow, it is due at 16:00. The website just says 'Birmingham' so not sure if it's the airport or over the city or both?

The time is now on the website but I guess is subject to change.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?
LBA: B737-300 G-GDFK empty down to Paris at 16:15 to operate the return LS268 back to Leeds 20:00 ETA where it will then operate the delayed LS265 to Malaga 20:40ETD
LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
