This or reassuring - however I assume they would have been 'looking at it' before now as you say it could be official before the end of November. Could Xi'an be back on the cards? If not for S17, maybe 18?

Hainan 333 currently waiting to depart PEK on HU7903 to MAN with an ETA of 0448am tomorrow morning and a flight time of just 10 hrs. Shouldn't be too much congestion at that time in a morning.

Good to see these kinds of public comments, Hainan plainly see the market at MAN growing. The term "secondary cities" I thought was odd.

Yes the 1-1 rule means they cannot jump on the likes of Shanghai, but the description of anywhere as "secondary" rarely goes down well!

It may be that PVG/PEK and possibly CAN are seen as the main airports, after all, it's where the majority of long haul goes into.

Xi'an, Chongqing, Changsha, Wuhan and the likes, while they do have some long haul, are not seen as the main entry points.

I suppose it's like the UK, LHR is seen as the primary point, and as no where else comes close for the level of long haul, everywhere else is secondary. This of course is my interpretation and opinion, but, I believe it to be accurate. Just because MAN does well with long haul, doesn't mean it should be on the same pedestal of London. It's simply unrealistic.

I agree, and the comparison is probably accurate. Perhaps something has been lost in translation but I thought they would be able to find a better way to express the point!

The term second tier cities is quite commonly used when referring to China. I know that this could refer to Changsha, Xi'an, Chongqing, Hangzhou or Wuhan. All of these have a strong HNA operation and WUH is a twin city of MAN

I am not sure - just simply a list of cities commonly referred to as second tier, and HNA have a relatively substantial presence out of. I think XIY, WUH, HGH have the strongest possibility. HGH is fairly close to PVG so they could do a 2 weekly competing with CA possibly although XIY has been mentioned before. I have no clue of the 1:1 traffic rights they hold. If anyone could inform on this...

Great initiative, superb idea for MAN. I am also extremely impatient in waiting for the big Hainan daily announcement and Air China PVG - which will come first? Maybe they are releasing several stories in the lead up to this.

Hainan will use the A330-200 on Fridays in November due to maintence on the A330-300 fleet.

Hainan have reported a 90% load factor on its flights from Manchester.

The figure of 38,500 was calculated from June 10th to Sept 10th according to Hainan.

This is great news and surely must mean a daily service. If not now, then when?

And, referring to more recent posts, I think many Chinese love the countryside of the region's and certainly not enamoured at all with London being the 'be all and end all' of the UK.

Surprised this has not yet been raised here - it certainly has been discussed on an Irish thread on dark blue dot net.

Hainan have slots at MAN to go daily from around June. The hitherto unexpected news is that the aircraft will continue to DUB for a tag four days per week. Presumably the equipment will remain the A333. Better to make use of the aircraft MAN-DUB-MAN than let it sit on a stand for 6 hours per day.

I wonder if CX might consider doing the same thing as/when they increase their MAN services?

If they have fifth freedom for MAN-DUB I have no words, other than...I am going to book as soon as possible!
