Hi there ray and all, I totally agree with what you're saying, I think jet2 are really going to town with their advertising and marketing ploy, because they are really taking birmingham airport by the scruff of the neck, by setting a new base at birmingham airport, where they really do want to succeed, and I do hope they do succed , because at present , if in the two to three years of growing and expanding, birmingham airport passenger figures will have ballooned because of jet2. But on the other hand why is a new like jet2 showing more interest in expansion, where the other existing airlines are just sitting on the fence and doing nothing to help new growth in providing new routes. Jet2 are definitely the main driver but I think many of the others are also chipping in, this summer at least.

Thomas Cook have introduced four new routes this year with another three coming in 2018. Thomson have four new routes with three of those long haul. Monarch have seven new routes this year. British Airways return with four new routes. Eurowings have two new routes, Ryanair have four, BMI Regional three, Flybe have some new charters and we have one new route each from Blue Air, Vueling and Fly One.

Was rather surprised to hear an advert for Air Transat on the radio today. Two within half an hour. First one was advertising flying direct from BHX to YYZ this summer. The other one mentioned flying from BHX to Calgary and Vancouver (assume this is via YYZ as they didn't specifically mention direct).

I'm hearing Aer Lingus adverts in every break on the radio, they are heavily promoting their USA services via Dublin.

I'm also seeing lots of online advertising for Cobalt's Birmingham flights. It's because I've been on their website a few times recently but definitely good to see :)

Thomson have a page about Birmingham in their on board magazine.

New for 2017, Goa, Thailand and.......Florida???

Good to see though (y)

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
