Those are links to the airports Twitter and Facebook pages. Both are prominently featured on the airport website and most of the competitions run by the airport require entry from one of these channels. New routes and services are also promoted.

As for personal accounts, well they are just that and we all like to have a life outside of work  That said Paul Kehoe is usually very forthcoming when questioned on Twitter and if he is in a position where he is able to answer a question then he usually does.

Hi there ian, let's hope that the routes development team had a good time out in America, and all there hard work has paid off and hopefully we'll start to hear how it went and how many other airlines and routes they have secured and will start up from Birmingham airport, the more the merrier and hopefully a few big surprises as well.let's wait and see... Vueling are advertising on bus stops all over the city. Of course the ads had to feature a Spanish word, but they couldn't think of anything more imaginative than "Hola Birmingham" in spite of all the great names they give their planes.

KLM also have a lot of adverts around, but they use billboards. Their ads feature the 747, so they're guilty of the same sin as Qatar who use the A380 on their ads.

I noticed one of the Vueling posters today, something about flying being free, almost?

I've heard a few Etihad adverts on local radio lately, no specific departure airport was mentioned it was more about their on board entertainment.

From Mr Kehoe's Twitter.

Anybody familiar with Small Heath will know where this is.

Went into town yesterday and was delighted at how much exposure some of our airlines are getting. Qatar adverts are on the sides of all the escalators in the Bullring, Turkish are on the TV screens, and I saw a taxi painted yellow to advertise Vueling. It only mentioned Alicante, Barcelona and Tenerife, though, so a bit out of date :)

Talking of Vueling,I noticed the other day a bus on the number 1 service with an all over rear advert for Vueling services from BHX.A friend of mine who works for National Express says it is the first of a number to have the same or similar adverts.

Excellent! I haven't seen any Vueling adverts myself, but it's great to hear. If anyone is quick enough to snap a photo next time they see it on a bus/taxi feel free to post (y)

I saw one of the Vueling buses today, very striking with the whole of the back end painted yellow. It was on the 97 route.

I've also noticed more Vueling posters at bus stops. There's one on Tile Cross Road outside the Seagull chippy, the perspex is that dirty you can hardly make out what it's for

I've notice more advertising from the airport on local radio.

Yesterday it was about flying from Birmingham to the USA with American Airlines and United Airlines. Today it was fly from Birmingham to X* number of destinations worldwide.

*I can't remember the number quoted.

I switched on the radio yesterday just in time to catch the end of an advert for flights from Birmingham to Bulgaria. I didn't get the airline but I'm guessing it's for the Wizz or Ryanair flights to Sofia.

Also seen a couple of Vueling buses :)

You're right jfy1999 a lot of people will see what is a very eye-catching and thoughtful advertising hoarding. However, for me the most interest aspect is its situation, on the M6 in Walsall. That part of the West Midlands, as far as Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury, has a vast population, many of whom can choose either MAN or BHX as their 'local' airport. Positioning advertising is crucial in winning market share, in this case potential pax. I believe we will see more of this kind of advertising, not in Brum itself, but in areas where BHX management want to get the message across.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
