As I'm bored I've had a quick look through the seat maps for this week.

Tomorrows Budapest, inbound 93%, outbound 84%

Fridays Warsaw, inbound 90%, outbound 82%

Fridays Poznan, inbound full, outbound 73%

Saturdays Budapest, inbound 82%, outbound 80%

Thanks for the info Ray, i suppose the reason why loads are always higher inbound is becouse Wizz are more well known in these places than here in Birmingham but over time i would imagine it would even out to be the same both ways.

Those loads look very much in line with Wizz load averages (see link below). The BHX routes have only been operating for a few months so this is a great sign that they will be successful. I'm sure if these loads continue that we will see capacity increases on some routes (WAW will increase to 3 x weekly from May 2016) and hopefully BHX will see some new routes too?

Obviously the Dec15 figures are not out, but we have the Nov15 figures to go on...

Wizz Average Load Factor = 87.9%

BHX - WAW = 78%
BHX - BUD = 86%

Dec15 figures will also have POZ to include but we need a few more people to use the service.

Interestingly, according to the link above, Dec15 saw the average Wizz LF be below average whish shocks me!

Wizz had only been operating from BHX for two full months in November and Poznan has not yet been operating for four weeks. As previously mentioned Wizz aren't particularly well known in Midlands inbound loads seem much stronger. Great loads initially and an airline that sees opportunities and takes them. It would be good to see the frequency of Budapest increased.

New route to Sofia starting March 28th, 2x weekly Monday and Friday.

W6 4371 SOF 18:25 BHX 19:55
W6 4372 BHX 20:25 SOF 01:45

Hi Ray
They just keep coming! They must be happy with loads/yield to keep adding destinations. This airline seems to take a chance when developing routes, a great addition to airlines operating at Birmingham well done Birmingham Airport marketing team.

More great news from Wizz! They really are turning out to be a great addition to the BHX portfolio and I think there is probably more to come - Riga and Lublin look like the obvious choices.

Great news, another capital city crossed off, and as others have said, our first ever scheduled service to Bulgaria????

I suspect this will be formally announced by Wizz either tomorrow or Monday. Obviously as ever this is on their mobile timetable. On their twitter accound they have just launched Budapest to Reyjavik, Ibiza and Liverpool.

Sofia should not have been a shock to be honest, its one of their fastest growing bases.... Cluj and Lublin are other fast growing bases which I think will be on BHX's radar!!!

I don't know if anyone has access to this dates, but Wizz have 22 Bases... does anyone have a list of the size of those bases and as such, which onces are currently served via BHX... could be an indication of where is next???

So far we have:

Bucharest - 2x weekly
Budapest - 2x weekly
Poznan - 2x weekly
Sofia - 2x weekly
Warsaw - 3x weekly
Wroclaw - 2x weekly

With a schedule below:

Monday
• Sofia
• Wroclaw

Tuesday
• Poznan
• Warsaw

Wednesday
• Bucharest
• Budapest

Thursday
• Warsaw

Friday
• Sofia
• Wroclaw

Saturday
• Poznan
• Warsaw

Sunday
• Bucharest
• Budapest

Total of 13x weekly departures in summer 2016 so far.....

Now bookable on the main website....

Prices are pretty high for Wizz... seats are already at £78 for the first flight, with most flights base fare starting at circa £35.. still not bad though...

I must admit loving the look of the route map, the BHX routes are starting to look pretty impressive for an airlines that's only been operating 4 months!

It's definitely a nice addition, as said, only previously available through charter flights and not another 'safe' Polish route

Wizz bases and destinations served, no idea of frequencies, sorry.

Of those Riga and Vilnius stand out to me.

I think Lublin is only a matter of time and either Wizz or Blue Air may try Cluj at some point.

jfy makes a good point about Ryanair, as yet Wizz have avoided them despite Katowice and Gdansk being sizeable bases for them. They are going head to head with Ryanair on the Bristol - Warsaw route so maybe we'll see KTW or GDN in the future.

After that, Kosice? Debrecen? Iasi? If they want to get adventurous the likes of Kiev or Skopje could be interesting

Another great addition from Wizzair. Our Eastern European network is certainly looking a lot more impressive now.I wonder how much further Wizz intend to go before saying, that's enough for now,we'll see how it goes.
It is an interesting point made by jfy1999 regarding Ryanair.I always thought Eastern Europe was their stronghold.RYR and BHX have had an up and down relationship over the years, but I would love to know what they think about the new kid on the block!

They also fly Luton-Ljubjana despite neither being a base. Ljubljana would be another nice one to have back on the departure boards.

Another great new route for BHX and another capital city. We are already having a great start to 2016 with increased frequencies from Norweigan to both BCN and LPA and now this new route from Wizz. 11 million passengers anybody ?????? :good:

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
