I didn't realized they had been vocal about cutting capacity, more slowing growth???

Warsaw is now bookable and continues to be on an A321.

If Budapest is to go back to an A320 I wonder if we are to see an increased frequency?

Sofia is now on sale and remains at 3x weekly on an A321. Just Bucharest left to go.

Next Saturday (24th) sees Warsaw switch to an A321.

Bucharest is now in the system for S17 and increases to 3x weekly.

What is interesting is that it moves to Tue, Thur and Sat which are also Blue Air days of operation (Blue Air also have a Sunday flight for S17).

An interesting one to watch.

(No Flights)

16x flights a week

10x A320 flights a week = 20x 180 seats = 3,600 seats a week
6x A321 flights a week = 12x 230 seats = 2,760 seats a week

Total = 6,360 seats a week, 27,560 seats a month or 330,720 seats annually

Summer 2016 saw 14x 320 flights a week ~ 5,040 seats per week. This year we have more flights and bigger aircraft which equates to an increase in +26% in capacity per week.

....lets hope there may even be more routes to come :O)

So it appears I live an exciting rock and roll lifestyle that I spend my Saturday night look at flight numbers…

Anyway, had a look at the Wizz Load Factors for the July CAA Stats, all looking pretty damn healthy!!!!

BUDAPEST 4,283 (13 flights) = 165 pax per flt / 91.7% LF

WARSAW 4,244 (13 flights) = 163 pax per flt / 90.6% LF

POZNAN 3,048 (9 flights) = 169 pax per flt / 94.1% LF

BUCHAREST 2,892 (9 flights) = 161 pax per flt / 89.3% LF

WROCLAW 2,882 (8 flights) = 180 pax per flt / 100.0% LF

SOFIA 2,862 (8 flights) = 179 pax per flt / 99.4% LF

Summer 2017

So in Summer 2015, BHX represented the 4th Largest UK destination for Wizz after Luton, Doncastler and Glasgow. However, by Sumer 2017, assuming the currently status quo, BHX and LPL have moved above GLA and BHX is now the 3rd Largest UK destination with regard to weekly seat capacity. Interestingly, it appears the A321 only operate out of LTN, DSA and BHX… (below is a snap-shot taken during the 1st week of June 2017)

3rd. BHX – OTP (3x Weekly A320), BUD (3x Weekly A321), POZ (2x Weekly A320), SOF (3x Weekly A321), WAW (3x Weekly A321), WRO (2x Weekly A320) = 6x Routes / 16x Weekly Flights / 6,360 Seats

4th. LPL – BUD (3x Weekly A320), GDN (4x Weekly A320), KTW (2x Weekly A320), LUZ (2x Weekly A320), RIX (2x Weekly A320), WAW (3x Weekly A320) = 6x Routes / 16x Weekly Flights / 5,760 Seats

5th. GLA - OTP (2x Weekly A320), BUD (3x Weekly A320), GDN (2x Weekly A320), KTW (2x Weekly A320), LUZ (2x Weekly A320), POZ (2x Weekly A320), WAW (2x Weekly A320) = 7x Routes / 15x Weekly Flights / 5,400 Seats

6th. BRS – KTW (2x Weekly A320), KSC (2x Weekly A320), SOF (2x Weekly A320), WAW (2x Weekly A320) = 4x Routes / 8x Weekly Flights / 2,880 Seats

Both Sofia and Katowice go 3 x weekly during peak summer from brs next summer

LPL-BUD is A321 over the winter but currently shows as an A320 for S17. I thought GLA-OTP was an A321 but it's showing as an A320.

BUDAPEST 4,283 (13 flights) = 165 pax per flt / 91.7% LF

WARSAW 4,244 (13 flights) = 163 pax per flt / 90.6% LF

POZNAN 3,048 (9 flights) = 169 pax per flt / 94.1% LF

BUCHAREST 2,892 (9 flights) = 161 pax per flt / 89.3% LF

WROCLAW 2,882 (8 flights) = 180 pax per flt / 100.0% LF

SOFIA 2,862 (8 flights) = 179 pax per flt / 99.4% LF

Those are some impressive numbers and support Mr Kehoe's words about great load factors. Bucharest and Sofia see frequency increases next summer but it would be nice to get a little more on the other routes also.

Wizz going to beat Blue Air to Iasi?

Routes that Wizz Air is going to open in Iasi - reportedly concerned the March / July 2017 - are Dortmund (DTM) Memmingen (FMM), Madrid (MAD), Birmingham (BHX), Paris Beauvais (BVA) and Bari (BRI). Also, the 2017 summer schedule (March - according to sources, May / June as others) will allocate Wizz base in Iasi a second aircraft.

This was originally posted to Ian's group so I hope that he doesn't mind me mentioning it here?

The seat maps for tomorrows OTP. The numbers are impressive given that it's not exactly peak time and we have two carriers on the route.

Bucharest to Birmingham 97%

Birmingham to Bucharest 95%

Wizz have some extra flights operating for the next four weeks over the holiday period.

Bucharest sees a third weekly flight making it Mon, Wed and Fri. Despite Blue Air also increasing the loads on this route continue to be astonishing with just 5 empty seats left for tomorrow. From the end of March it goes permanent 3x weekly on Tue, Thur and Sat, there was talk of it switching to an A321 for summer but as it stands it's still an A320.

Budapest sees the return of the Thursday flight, it's back again permanently at the end of March. With the loads it has seen I thought this was ripe for an increase next summer but as it stands it's still a 3x weekly A320 as oppose to the A321 this winter.

Warsaw also sees the return of the Thursday flight and it too comes back permanently at the end of March. Going purely by the seat maps recent loads suggest that Ryanair starting their Modlin service has affected Wizz to Chopin. It doesn't appear too bad though with them still showing load factor percentages in the 80's and the A321 continues into summer, I'm sure once they're bedded in things will look better.

Loads on the other routes continue to appear healthy and Sofia goes 3x weekly from the first week in Jan with it also switching to an A321 from Feb.

I just wish they'd announce Riga :(

Sofia has now gone up to 3x weekly, it also switches to the A321 in a couple of weeks.

Looking at the seat maps the recent loads have been very impressive considering it is the end of Jan. For instance tomorrow's Bucharest is showing 95% outbound and 97% inbound.

So how many flights is that a week? I get lost...?

WAW 3x weekly 320?
POZ 2x weekly 320?
WCO 2x weekly 320?
SOF 3x weekly 321
BUD 3x weekly 320?
OTP 3x weekly 320?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
