Blue Air really seem to be expanding their network with lots of connections now available via Bucharest and/or Cluj.

Their website shows connections to Baia Mare, Brasov (coach), Catania, Constanta (coach), Iasi, Oradea, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Targu Mures and Tel Aviv.

Considering how well Romania looks to be performing I hope that some of these will eventually lead to one or two new direct destinations added.

Blue Air's new website is now up and running.

Nothing is bookable for next summer yet but the new drop down menu and timetable list from Birmingham is rather interesting. Gone are all of the Romanian connections listed above, they have been replaced by Bordeaux, Dublin, Glasgow, Hamburg and Lyon along with Bucharest, Cluj and Larnaca.

It's most likely a glitch with the new website but it seems a rather odd list.

Or BlueAir will be basing one aircraft at BHX ? Just like they do at Liverpool (LPL)

Waiting for Larnaca now! All our family and friends have booked with Monarch because Blue Air are taking so long to release their Summer 2018 schedule. They all wanted to book with Blue Air but wanted the security of knowing they’ve booked. What a shame, lost customers. I wonder how many of these cases harm airlines that release their schedules late.

We’re holding on a little longer but if it’s not out in the next couple of weeks we will book elsewhere(n)

I'd say Christmas is the cut-off point for most route releases, but the clock is ticking!

I can never understand why some airlines take so long to release their flights. As soon as your competitors have their offer on sale surely it would make sense to release your own, even if it's just the basic schedule to start off with?

Yep if I was running an airline (dreaming again) I'd want to be first out with the flight program, obviously the competition would respond but so could I and meanwhile you'd nicked bookings and have insight into latest demand.

Maybe I look at things too simply.

Just had a look on the Blue Air website. I did not find any flights loaded for S18 but looking at the route map it shows Helsinki and Tel Aviv amongst others in addition to the routes from last year from BHX. Same in the destination drop down.

We shall have to see what actually goes on sale.Surely S18 must be on sale soon?

Bucharest and Cluj are both bookable for S18 so just Larnaca to go.

Incidentally Larnaca looks as if it is back up to 3x weekly for winter, it originally dropped to 2x weekly.

Very sneaky. Helsinki and Tel Aviv show on route map but are one stop via Bucharest.

Blue Air could do much worse than sticking a plane into Birmingham.

Rome could be a good start, even though Jet2 have gone 4x weekly there still needs to be much more. Bergamo is a destination that has been missing for too long, I'm sure that Mr Winterbourn would appreciate it's return. Iasi, Bacau, an increase to Larnaca.......the demand is there.

Well Mr CEO Finkle, get writing that email tonight with your special BHX deal. Im sure he will jump at the chance.

Couldn’t agree more Ray. Rome/Jet2 in general needs some competition and Blue Air are very cheap.

A dummy booking for 17-21st May to go to Rome next year is £182 with Jet2 from BHX which is eye watering (or is it just me??). BA from Heathrow are £85, less than half that...

apparently the second half of the Blue Air summer schedule is due to be released shortly.... lets hope this is where they will release the Larnaca flights and hopefully anymore routes/increases they propose!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
