Note to administrators: Like everyone on here who has already posted a comment, i am appalled by the senseless killing of innocent people in Manchester last night, some of them young children.

However, in my view postings such as these should warrant a suitable thread of its own. Somehow for our comments to appear under the thread title 'random' just does not sit right with me.

My comment is made with the utmost respect to Forums4airports, a forum which has shown itself to be sympathetic and caring.

It's a good point.

If somebody wants to start a dedicated thread in the General Discussion Forum I will happily move the posts.

UK threat level raised to Critical following the Manchester atrocity.

The levels are:

Low - an attack is unlikely
Moderate - an attack is possible but not likely
Substantial - an attack is a strong possibility
Severe - an attack is highly likely
Critical - an attack is expected imminently

Wouldn't creating a separate thread serve to 'normalise' these atrocities and accept them as part of everyday life? That said if nothing more is done to prevent these evil acts then they probably will become a regular event if they haven't already.

Those are my thoughts also. It feels like every month I'm typing 'thoughts and prayers' and I'm getting fed up of it. It needs to stop and something needs to be done now.

Yesterday's attack really hit me quite hard. Ariana Grande was in Birmingham last week and we very nearly took my little girl to see her, it could quite easily have happened here, to us. As a father of two seeing those poor parents going out of their mind with worry made me feel sick to the stomach.

I could type a huge lengthy reply on this but as Jon quite rightly said, I may post something in anger that I'd later regret.

I have no problem if somebody wants to start a separate thread and I will happily move the posts but it's not something that I'm going to do.

Ray, God provided me with a brain but, sadly, no real ability when it comes to matters technical, electrical or how to manipulate computer wizardry. Therefore, i have a problem...

I do believe a dedicated thread for matters such as the Manchester bombing, other than random, would be beneficial because i fear such an occurrence will happen again. I hope not, but recent history shows us that it is very likely.

Therefore, i ask if there is someone else out there who could set up a thread, probably with the name of condolence or something similar, then i would be very grateful.

Sorry folks, just returning from my own crisis however I believe a separate ‘ IN MEMORIAM‘ section in wider forum is indicated based upon the reading of current postings.

We must change nothing because some malcontent chooses mass murder above all else. Just talking about it is what git wanted!!!!

Bloomin heck! Today's health and safety zealots would be spitting fire. It's a great article.

Fascinating article about the We Built This City exhibition currently on at BMAG.

It's an account of the contribution Irish workers made in constructing post-war Birmingham. The pictures are quite amazing.
An example of integration so so badly needed now.
No Irish No Blacks No Dogs.
They ignored this, worked (and played) hard and now how many of use who now consider ourselves as Brummies
have parents or grandparents who could have been in the video.

It is quite possible that my own parents and/or related persons were a party to the regeneration of Birmingham. I just about recall growing up in Winson Green and being spat upon by 'friend's at school because of Irish accent and IRA activities at the time.

The accent has gone but the memories still sting!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
