Airlineroute are a little behind on this one but they have so much to cover I think we can forgive them :)

TUI Airways UK in winter 2019/20 season is introducing various short-haul routes, previously not covered on Airlineroute. Planned operation includes the following.

Birmingham – Agadir eff 07NOV19 1 weekly 737-800
Birmingham – Marsa Alam eff 04NOV19 1 weekly 737-800

Airlineroute has picked up on the flight times for Birmingham – Muscat:

TOM404 BHX0730 – 1830MCT 788 21NOV19
TOM404 BHX1000 – 2000MCT 788 16APR20

TOM405 MCT2100 – 0105+1BHX 788 21NOV19
TOM405 MCT2200 – 0305+1BHX 788 16APR20

Yesterday we had both G-TUIB and G-TUIK covering for a tech Olympus A321 on flights to Ibiza and Larnaca. Today's arrival from Cancun (G-TUIB) is late as a result but only by a couple of hours which is pretty impressive considering yesterday's departure was delayed until after 14:30.

This is good news especially as Orlando which will be x 2 weekly in 2020 will see a 787-9 (y)

TUI should have 6 B789's in service by this winter, so guess it makes sense to employ they on long haul routes, presumable 1 at BHX, the remaining 5 based at MAN/LGW? perhaps we might see a B788 on short haul flights for summer 2020, replace the B757s?

I was under the assumption they'll keep hold of those 757's until the Max's are back in service? Airframe permitting that is, not sure when they reach the absolute end of their service.

TUI operating three 787's today besides the regular 788 flight to Cancun there's a 788 to Ibiza and a789 to Larnica presumably down to the MAX problem.

Not quite certain where you got that information from, there was only 1 788 at BHX, G-TUIB to Cancun. One of the Olympus A321s has moved to Manchester, replaced by a TUI 738, not certain why and if this is permanent?

They were shown as operating yesterday morning on the bhxmovementsblog Matt. which now shows they were operated by SX-ACP which appears to have operated LCA-BHX-IBZ-BHX-LCA

Sorry for any confusion.

No problems Rollo, i have a feeling it might have been the previous Thursday, when we saw the B789 come in, must have been a problem with the blog!

Yes, just cheked back to Thursday 11th and they did indeed operate on that date.

unconfirmed, but have heard that a Smart Lynx A320 maybe well be based for the rest of the summer season to operate for TUI, possibly to replace a Olympus A321's or a TUI B738
I heard the same a few weeks ago, replacement for an olympus.

My sister in law was told yesterday her flight to Lanzarote in September cancelled and now been told has to fly from Man which she is adamant she isn’t going to do, 2 questions, are Tui cancelling flights due to sourcing aircraft and does anyone know where she stands re pre booked parking which she has paid in full? Thanks in advance

They should tell the reason they are cancelling the flight. One would presume so; but who knows. Seems a little daft to be cancelling a flight to the Canaries in September. It is still peak season for the Canaries. September is a popular month.

As for parking who and how has she booked this? If it is herself, and not part of the package, then it would depend not the T's C's of the car parking company.

As for TUI - why can they not offer her the EMA option?

When ive booked parking i've noticed there are some companies that offer a cheaper "non refundable/no changes " rate, but for a little more there is a flexible one. Having been stung in the past when plans altered I always opt for the flexible one now.

If the Tui flight is from Birmingham that has been cancelled, why not choose another carrier on the same day from Birmingham. Multiple flights most days I believe. Get to keep the car parking and don't have to go oop norf to fly to Lanzarote.

Hope it works out for her.

Cheers

Karl

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
