Just a little question if I may? I notice that Monarch announced Stockholm from Manchester operating the same days as Birmingham. Could this be a one stop service or two Airbuses flying separately?

Monarch have announced nothing yet relating to their summer schedule. Others are reporting the route as it briefly appeared on GDS.

If/when announced, it will not be one stop flights! There would be no-sense in such situations!

No sense indeed? Why then did Thomson put me on a flight to Kos that stopped at Bristol both outbound and inbound if it would be ' no sense' to do so?

It was a B757, it departed BHX with many empty seats, landed at Bristol and landed at Kos with every seat occupied.

Equally on the return flight, so why not combine services upon one aircraft if it is financially sensible and operationally wise?

Nice has also been added )

Good to see that Stockholm is not at the cost of Nice which I know some were worried about!

They are charter flights Jenny, that is quite normal these days but for a scheduled flight to operate like that would be very unusual.

I don't think there are any double drops at BRS any more with charter flights except perhaps Balkan Holidays at the beginning of a season. 20 years ago my wife and I flew to Paphos one winter with First Choice on a B 757 that came from BHX part loaded and returned there the following week part loaded, with the remainder of the seats taken by BRS passengers.

I think this is the schedule based on the first week of Aug and as it stands it's 9 based except Wed and Sat, along with Sun afternoon (I may have missed one). I'm not even going to try an attempt to work out where the W patterns fit in.

Nice drops to 2x weekly (which is understandable given recent events) but the new 3x weekly ARN makes up for the loss. We usually see a sprinkling of extra flights added which could easily fill the Wed/Sat gaps. Not much room for anything new now unless we see a 10th based aircraft.

I also should have added that Sharm is currently showing 2x weekly from Feb to April but nothing after that. I'm not sure what the situation is at the moment, I guess it's a wait and see.

Not looking too bad and we should see an extra frequency or two added to the sun routes over the coming months which will fill the gaps.

If a deal was done with ARN then it makes sense that it's been fitted in, I hope that it works out for them.

It just feels strange that ARN approached Monarch of all airlines, I wonder if they approached SAS or Norweigan ??

Im not complaining though, it is great that BHX has direct flights again to Stockholm.

If Monarch perform well on ARN and Norwegian see it then hopefully they will try and get in on the act.

SAS had a good start, the route went downhill once they changed the times and aircraft.

Lots of chatter on various forums that Monarch are on the verge of ceasing operations - hence the United 747s. Very sad if true but at the moment everything looks to be business as usual? And if they were to go under would they really have launched all those new routes last week?

Airlines will continue as business as normal until the fat lady sings. All monarch flights into the UK are being parked on remote stands tonight.

A real shame if true, Monarch have been around as long as I can remember :(

The Palma flights certainly match the timings of the Monarch flights but ZB have much more than just PMI tomorrow, including BCN, FCO, LIS, FAO, FNC, TFS.......and plenty more? Hopefully as Paul suggested it's just an operator that use Monarch.

I guess we'll hear in due course but very sad for the staff if true :(

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
