Although its still early days I don't think 58% is great for September. Maybe for Oct onwards. It's worrying that Winter could see regular below 50% stats.

Generally across most of their network their load factors are low. In the end it will be down to the yield.

Including the deal the WG has undoubtedly struck. I think the WG will do what it takes to ensure the route is sustained - there is no suggestion whatsoever that it is in any danger at the moment - and if necessary will sail close to the state aid rules (I put it no stronger than that). It can't afford to lose it as it's a bellwether.

Apologies for being cynical here. It will no doubt be sustained at all costs for Welsh labour to save face. As will flybe (if they don’t fold in the meantime).

I've been following some of the bloggers and vloggers from the CWL press trip to Doha and one of them released a video today of Doha. It does look quite nice from the video.

I've been having a look at Qatar Airways for next year and looking at frequencies the route will be 5 weekly with no Wednesday and Sunday flights up until the last week of May. From the beginning of June it will go daily up until the end of September. In October it looks like there will be no flights on Thursday 3rd, Friday 11th and Thursday 17th. It looks like then the route will be 5 weekly again for winter with no Wednesday and Sunday flights starting Sunday 27th October.

Since Qatar Airways started in May up until October they have carried 43,898 passengers into and out of Cardiff Airport.

Can 43,898 passengers im 5 months even though it's a new service be considered a poor performance? Can the route be considered as performing poorly?

It also depends how much treight is carried both ways, freight does help routes where ever they operate to.

No one knows the yield so the service will always be judged on the seats sold compares to what's onsale though that will never tell the full picture.

Average of 162.5 passengers per flight. 64.4% load factor.

January and February will be interesting. Hopefully they won't be too bad but if they are i wonder if in 2020 they may consider suspending the route for 4 to 6 weeks similar to what the American airlines do at EDI.

I went into the city centre to do a bit a Xmas shopping yesterday and as i drove in via Newport Road i noticed a big advertising board for Qatar Airways on the back of the Texaco garage's shop (sorry if you don't know where i'm talking about) definitely a good spot to advertise on one of the main roads into Cardiff. I also had a look and bought some presents from Cardiff's Xmas market which was really good and quite large and the Welsh shop opposite the Castle, i'd definitely recomend a visit to both and sorry about no photo of the advertisement but i was driving!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
