You’d think for Wales PLC purposes that the FAW / WAG would be heavily in favour of flying out of CWL. Especially when Qatar could make a return in the future.

That would require a special charter rather than just use a scheduled flight at Heathrow. The FAW have been stressing the importance in exposure for Wales as a country that the tournament will bring. Flying from Heathrow could devalue that a little bit rather than flying directly from Wales.

It looks like they will be. Qatar Airways too Doha is scheduled for a 1500 departure on the 15/11/22 and I've been told that they will be doing the bulk of the fan charters as well.

The departure on the 15th is the team. I've been told that there will be fan charters the day before each game. The USA game is on the 21st, the Iran game is on the 25th and the England game is on the 29th November.

According to a post on Facebook the team will depart on a Qatar Airways A350 and other charters will be conducted by 787s and A350s and there will be a total of 14 flights.

Does anybody know if tonight’s flights are bringing fans home or taking more out? Incidentally due to the one aircraft being late 2 Qatar 787’s will be on the ground together.

Pretty sure they're just bringing them home. Next game is Friday so i imagine the flights will depart on Thursday.

A report in Simply flying states that Qatar Airways and Airbus have reached an amicable agreement out of Court and all proceedings will not now take place. In a joint statement, the two companies intend to work together in future. I wonder Qatar will order the A321's which were previously cancelled and were intended for use on the CWL route, we'll have to wait and see. A lot of posts on the BHX forum, suggest that BHX may be resuming Qatar flights later this year, perhaps they may look at CWL whose passenger figures weren't far behind those of BHX.

Were they intended for CWL? I think Qatar resuming in the next few years may be optimistic but it would be a boost for the airport if they did especially for Cardiff's air cargo operation.

It was mentioned somewhere when the 321's were cancelled, but not by one of usual contributors on this forum.
I think the problem with an A321 for a route like Cardiff is that it would be seen as a downgrade compared to other routes with wide bodies and it has less cargo capacity which would be a key thing for the airport.

All the A350s and A321s are back on the order book, with the hefty penalty for QR being that instead of deliveries this year for the A321s, it's going to be 2026 before they start arriving

There was never any plan to restart CWL. Yields were too poor. BHX was not a great performer for QTR either so let’s hope it does better this time.

I'm curious, how do you know about the yields.
Qatar are not restarting CWL, they have now released details of re-instated routes BHX restarts 10 July not no CWL.
Is there a source for that?

It does look like if CWL is too see the return of Qatar Airways it probably won't be until 2024 at the earliest.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
