It won't be Thomas Cook. They can't even get their hands on enough aircraft to carry out their Manchester plans, let alone add another airport to the mix.

That leaves Norweigan and as some have suggested LEVEL ?
I wouldn't discount Westjet and possibly an extremely far in advance announcement for JetBlue.

LEVEL could be good but I thought there were some issues with operating from the UK for them in the meantime, but if something could be sorted for the longer term...?

It won't be level either, current Union agreements within IAG means Iberia cannot serve UK long haul, to which Level is fully on the Iberia AOC.

As for Norwegian, their latest financials and general feeling within the industry means I would t be so quick to pin all hopes on them for the long term.....

Having read all of the posts, it seems to me that Westjet will be announcing Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver, with another airline as yet unknown also looking likely. Pure semi-educated guesswork. If someone who we know knows likes the post, then we all know we know, if you know what I mean!:ROFLMAO:

Well, it would appear that we will not have to wait too long now. But for me the most important thing is not to collect airlines and routes as if it is collecting houses on Monopoly.
So, new routes to Canada would leave me a little disappointed. What BHX needs, and this has been supported today by the business community, is a direct and daily link to New York and possibly other major US cities. Anything less than that will still leave the region lacking for vital connectivity.

Couldn't be made to work? They have been doing it for over 20 years. The world is changing maybe United are not
keeping up.Time for a new approach.Thomas Cook at MAN being a good example.
I mean in the current climate. Unfortunately for all of us, with the odd new route and excitement, it seems TATL from the UK regions is on a plateaux for now.

i promise you all you BHX fans firstly these 3 new routes are NOW desparately needed and the
other carrier rumoured is a real coup if it happens, lets hope its good news

Its not Emirates is it, they started with Athens-EWR, maybe they see BHX as a big opportunity. Sorry im probably in fantasy land but no harm in a bit of fantasy.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
