Now just to add to the speculation, is it three routes from one operator or three from three???

So we know it's an airline that doesn't currently serve MAN, that rules out TCX, Norwegian, Delta/Virgin. It's 3 routes I'm assuming all to North America, do Westjet have 3 international stations and would all 3 be viable for a BHX link? Could we be in the launch of JetBlue's international expansion? I'm a but stumped as to any other airline it could be.
With apparently no uk airline interested, the only one i can think of is Norwegian with three routes with the B737Max.
JetBlue don't get the A321neos till 2019 unless they surprise everyone and lease some 757s or widebodies.Could we be in the launch of JetBlue's international expansion?
Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver are all WestJet hubs and have flights to Gatwick.do Westjet have 3 international stations

Most likely Norwegian to Hartford, Providence and Newburgh.
With the loss of United, can anyone see BA filling the competition void that is New York?
North America. Not "USA"?
How about Spicejet? They want to go long haul - could they be going for North America via BHX? Has anyone got it right yet?
Thomas Cook? They serve MAN extensively.
I would say 2x week MCO, 1x week LAS, 3x week JFK is reasonable and could be done with one based aircraft and has great potential - although as you say Thomas Cook would be a bit of a surprise for me.To be fair, if Thomas Cook were to launch New York, Orlando and Las Vegas from Birmingham, I doubt it would have much if any impacts on their loads from Manchester.
Of course routes to Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, etc would be two much for both airports, but there's more than enough local demand for JFK, MCO and LAS to be served by the same airline from both airports. MCO and LAS are woefully under-served from BHX, and with United leaving so is NYC.
Although all that sounds reasonable, I still highly doubt its Thomas Cook.
