Now just to add to the speculation, is it three routes from one operator or three from three???

So we know it's an airline that doesn't currently serve MAN, that rules out TCX, Norwegian, Delta/Virgin. It's 3 routes I'm assuming all to North America, do Westjet have 3 international stations and would all 3 be viable for a BHX link? Could we be in the launch of JetBlue's international expansion? I'm a but stumped as to any other airline it could be.

Westjet have "hubs" for want of a better word at Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary, links to all if which would be brilliant for BHX.

With apparently no uk airline interested, the only one i can think of is Norwegian with three routes with the B737Max.

Only problem with Norwegian is that they seemed to have lost interest in serving European routes from BHX (and other airports). To be honest, I almost hope its NOT Norwegian - they don't seem to have the commitment to serve BHX.

Most likely Norwegian to Hartford, Providence and Newburgh.

Don't Norwegian still serve MAN? If it were to be them I'd hope for a ramped up short haul offering as well, be strange to retreat on Euro routes but go big bang over the Atlantic.

Given that United carried a fair bit of Disney traffic connecting to Florida, if there was ever a time for Thomson to add a second weekly SFB then surely this must be it?

I won't hold my breath.

Well ive just seen BBC midlands today and that travel guy Simon Calder has suggested it is either Norweigan or Thomas Cook. This news is all over the news.

It could be Westjet - Calgary/Vancouver/Toronto

It could be Norwegian - Hartford/Providence/Stewart

Thomas Cook? They serve MAN extensively. BA? Can't see it. Virgin/Delta? Unlikely to launch three destinations.

I must say that considering New York couldn't be made to work, it will have to be an 'out there' airline to launch three destinations. Is it in the US or Canada?

To be fair, if Thomas Cook were to launch New York, Orlando and Las Vegas from Birmingham, I doubt it would have much if any impacts on their loads from Manchester.

Of course routes to Boston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, etc would be two much for both airports, but there's more than enough local demand for JFK, MCO and LAS to be served by the same airline from both airports. MCO and LAS are woefully under-served from BHX, and with United leaving so is NYC.

Although all that sounds reasonable, I still highly doubt its Thomas Cook.

I would say 2x week MCO, 1x week LAS, 3x week JFK is reasonable and could be done with one based aircraft and has great potential - although as you say Thomas Cook would be a bit of a surprise for me.

Has it been confirmed that it is a carrier not serving MAN completely?

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
