How about a good old United 757 or 767, ha.

You can keep all these airlines trying to be "cool" when in fact they probably won't be any better than the old timers like UA/AA or dare I say Highland Express on there 747's, oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh

I know where you are coming from.. BUT it isn’t going to happen with any of those airlines and narrow body, fuel efficient planes on transatlantic flights is the future! Plus the guy behind this start was the original main man behind JetBlue so I do have a bit more hope with this one. Their focus will be on unserved, smaller markets

It doesn't matter which airline is "better". The better airline is the one that continues to trade and decides to serve BHX, whatever its legacy. If Highland Express was better, they would still be active and serving Birmingham!

Thinks it's been delayed again until 21 August. MAN starts the day after. Not sure what's happened to Condor MAN-PMI?
Hi there and welcome to F4A as I see you’re a new member.

it’s true they have been pushed back again.

BHX- Hopefully starts 21st August
LGW- Hopefully starts 20th August
MAN- Hopefully starts 22nd August.

Im unaware of a Manchester-Palma route with Condor unless you’re meaning the Eurowings one??

Woops, may have mixed this up with Condor doing long-haul from MAN. Taking over ex TC routes.

Will be interesting to see how they perform as have an excellent reputation in Germany. Then, Germans pay more for package holidays than we do!

I thought Condor was rescued from the Thomas Cook group and retained as an airline and absorbed into the Lufthansa group, as it was originally. The Condor bird is the Lufthansa logo.

Condor certainly used to be part of the Lufthansa group, but in a recent YouTube trip report that I watched, the author stated that following the collapse of the Thomas Cook group Condor were looking for new investors (I realise that it can be months between the video being recorded and released, so it's possible that Lufthansa have intervened since then).

Condor apparently are 51% owned since May this year by someone called Attestor LLP a private equity company surprisingly to me at least they are British owned.

No idea what its got to with BHX new routes and rumours but then again their doesn't seem much in the rumour mill unless anyone knows different !

Condor is now a standalone company. Yes, recently announced new investor and fleet renewal programme. I know a captain who used to work for TCX, did Condor in winter. He mentioned the long-haul flights from MAN.

BHX really needs to attract some long-haul routes especially since runway extension.

Would be nice if there was more choice in the Midlands and North of England for flights to the USA.

In the past BHX has had AA to JFK, UAL to EWR and also Primera to New York now there isn’t anything from BHX to the US. Personally with long haul routes travel restrictions need to ease before any airline considers long haul flights from BHX to places like the US and they have to let us in as the borders are still closed to us in the USA.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
