I was only joking Jennyjet, those things you mentioned are hardly unique to Birmingham, every major city in this country have those problems with serious crime.
 
Bloody nora, is it a bird, is it a plane, its only a West Midlands Metro tram at Grand Central/New Street Station after 5/6 months, hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooray 🤣 👍😍

Now lets gets them up Broad Street to Edgbaston Village, however still not open. I am sure the week before the CWG 2022, somebody will wave there magic wand and it will open just like that.

I too would love to move back to the West Midlands. I've lived in Cambridgeshire for over 20 years and find the East of England so dull.

Great to see Peaky Blinders back on TV soon and all the great publicity for the city...by heck we need it. Master Chef moving to Brum, which was the obvious choice given the foodie stars we have.

And still the big event in August to come. The start of something very big, I hope.

Vibrancy is coming back after the last two years of doldrums. Led by culture (not that Master Chef is culture, mind you).

When I saw this, I was a bit worried that it was going to result in the demolition of a large part of the Chinese quarter. I love walking around this area and visiting the Chinese supermarkets. Years ago, when I worked at Aston University we would regularly go to the Chung Ying restaurant (also on Sundays for Dim Sum) and China Court. Both excellent. Hopefully it wont have too big an effect on the Chinese quarter.

Love these. I know we have Google Earth etc, but nothing beats an oblique night time shot. Thanks to the passenger who took them and to you Brum X for posting.

Looks fantastic. Great proportions. Close to Holloway, so it adds to that cluster. Another 500+ footer to look forward to.

Looks good and the overall masterplan for the area is very impressive.

Before I get too excited what are the chances of this actually happening? A genuinely realistic proposal or yet another pretty Birmingham picture that will be nothing more than a distant memory in a few years?
 
Birmingham, My place of birth, Dudley Road hospital as was in 1959. Raised in Belfast due being a service child RAF in the name of Her Majesty. The troubles etc. Made home life difficult with continuing security interventions. Home was RAF Aldergrove.

Lived and worked across the city before being transferred to a place of work in Redditch where I remain in exile. That employment was with a Bookmaker (WILF GILBERT) before I became vehicular courier. A stroke ended life as I knew it (age 42) and the consequences emerged over time. I am now age 62 feeling 92. I am knackered!

I am delighted with the progress of my home town. I miss it dreadfully!

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
