It has been a while since I entered Birmingham Territory, apart from hospital consultations and tests, so I was wondering if the transport authority ( if it still exists ) have addressed emissions from the the Inner and Outer Circle bus routes, have plans to deploy Hydrogen fueled vehicles or are planning to recreate Trams or Trolley Buses on such routes?

Birmingham announces hydrogen bus pilot

The city council has bought 20 new hydrogen double-decker buses as part of its Clean Air Hydrogen Bus Pilot to kick-start the hydrogen market as a viable zero-emission fuel.

Bus operation​

The buses are being manufactured by Wrightbus, which is also supplying vehicles to Aberdeen and London. They will be operated in Birmingham by National Express, with an ambition to run them on the new Sprint route when it opens, which will be the first uninterrupted cross-city route, connecting Walsall town centre to Birmingham Airport and Solihull.

They are now called Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and not sure why Birmingham City Council got involved as per the above article when it is TfWM who run public transport in this region ?? Maybe some bright spark at the council had a great idea for once, it would be a first

Let's hope they can have a swift start on site once the CWG2022 has finished, as this is another project takiing ages to get going. I think we have been talking about it for nearly 10 years and not a digger in site ???

Brum x, that picture shows just how drab Birmingham is with many buildings looking samey from height though at ground level there are so many gems for historians to salivate over.

A good few towers to enhance the skyline would be nice and a signature tower to draw in business, tourism and cash might help.

Why should the Smoke and Manchester or Leeds get the big prize buildings and Birmingham not?

Many Cities will be drooling over 103 Colmore Row JENNYJET ? It is a fine new office tower for any city, including London.

I am sorry but a 26 floor building is but a maisonette compared to the City of London although seeing architects impression it would be typical of Manhattan low rise and is a nice structure.

No, I was thinking perhaps replacement of BT tower with something more shouty, hey...this is Birmingham, welcome to the observation restaurant. I am not asking for Burj al Arab or Khalif or Petronas but something perhaps like a Midlands Shard, something that one is drawn to when passing through Spaghetti. The CAA has altered flight paths for tall buildings so perhaps BHX may choose not to object.

The Curzon development or Digbeth/Deritend or Newhall Street all ripe for renewal.

This 48 storey tower for Digbeth is recommended for approval on Jan 7th.
