Feel like I’m in trouble by the mistakes I’ve made

Question. Now obviously I’ve divided all the numbers for its aircraft. Now what I’m wanting to is look at how many daily and weekly slots that airlines have asked. How do I do that?

According to my estimates.

A total of 191,576 seats were requested by Qatar which was divided by 616 flights which gave me an average score of 311 seats

B788
248 pax
B789
296 pax

Looks like we’ve got 2 daily.

Seriously though I don’t know if I’ve done it correctly yet

Qatar have a habit of keeping their options open by applying for two ‘banks’ with the largest capacity on a daily frequency. It allows flexibility. If you recall, last ACL round had BHX-DOH twice daily on A359 even before the service resumption was announced. Similarly at EDI on a number of occasions. For now expect QTR to be daily B788 split between two banks. If the route does well they will upgrade.

I see
Emirates have Applied for 2X Daily A380
Qatar 2X daily 787
PLAY for a daily flight
Ryanairs Flights all increasing to 244x weekly

yes 311 seats, which is the seating capacity for their B789s :- https://www.planespotters.net/airline/Qatar-Airways

we won't see twice daily from them over winter, they hold the twice daily slots so they can fly a few early morning flights, and a few lunch time flights, the same as the upcoming summer services

don't know where people are getting Emirates double daily A380 from this winter?

their request is for a total of 321,244 seats, so divided that by the 616 flights, gives a seat average of 521.5 per flight

A388 2 class has 615 seats (EK39/40), B77W 2 class 428 seats (EK37/38), 615 + 428 = 1,043 seats a day

divide 1,043 seat by the 2 flights, gives 521.5 seats per flight, the slots they have requested!

2 A388s would be 615 x2 = 1,230 a day so 1,230 x 616 flights = 757,680 seats for the winter period.

You have "Eastern airways :Requested 2,072 slots:18 weekly" but the EA code is actually Emerald Airlines so these are the slots to Operate BHX to BHD/DUB Routes for a point of clarity.

Also, Aegean Airlines BHX-ATH are only bookable up until early Jan. Good slot requests are in as it would be good to see this route go truly year-round....

Hopefully the later but alas., only time will tell....

LHR, LGW, MAN and EDI all have direct scheduled connections with China so BHX would be the obvious next new UK Destination when it comes online. The West Mids large Chinese population and with Birmingham and Warwick being very popular with Chinese students, we hopefully have a good base to build.

Fingers crossed...

The Midlands expatriate population plus students is surely not enough to justify a three weekly flight (considering online figures). I would imagine inbound tourism is the most likely potential source.

EDI-PEK must depend on inbound tourists as its expatriate and student population is nowhere near enough to justify a regular service. Hainan’s l/fs on the route first time round were terrible.

I agree, expatriate population plus students will no where be enough to sustain such a route alone, but it certainly will help. Expats, Students, Tourism, Cargo, Ongoing Global Connectivity, Marketing and any Govt Support will all play their role in the viability of such a route, but im pretty confident there are good foundation on to build such a proposition.

With the largest population in the world and a growing middle class (which is due to grow be another 80million - more than the population of the UK - by 2030), it should be an obvious opportunity for growth at BHX assuming a positive/amicable social, economic and political environment can be maintained.

China should not be discounted as a transit point for onward travel within SE Asia and the Oceania region . I believe Sydney hosts 7 Chinese airlines daily for example , and an Air China service could well be of great benefit to ex pats and others who wish to use such a service . China is a massive market , yet to be fully opened up , once it is we could easily see a big demand . As an expat Brit living in Sydney , personally I’d love to see a PEK - BHX service , it would open up so many options for me .

...............and China Southern does not seek slots, the airline that gave our new extension of R33 legitimacy?
Very different ,China Southern didn't put in for scheduled slots out of BHX.

A Chinese travel agent just used China Southern for a small number of the travel agents package charter holidays. The airline not directly involved much in the build up.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
